If you want the current generation of the same silhouettes, budget $379. If you want the version with a display in the lens, budget $799 and a trip to a shop, because that one is sold in store only.

Ray-Ban Meta Black Friday 2026: what to expect

Short answer: Meta has not announced Black Friday 2026 pricing, so nobody can tell you the number yet, and we will not guess it. What we can give you is today’s price and last year’s record. On meta.com (checked October 20, 2026), the Gen 1 Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer and Skyler were listed from $224 against an original price of $299, Gen 2 Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner from $379, Gen 3 Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena from $449, Oakley Meta HSTN from $399, Oakley Meta Vanguard from $499 and the Meta Ray-Ban Display starting at $799. The shop page showed no Black Friday pricing that day.

What happened on Black Friday 2025

According to Road to VR (November 21, 2025), Meta took 20% off all Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 glasses until December 1, 2025, bringing them to about $240 from $300. The cut ran on Meta’s own site and, in the US, at Amazon, Best Buy, Ray-Ban Stores and Target. Two things were left out: the then-current Gen 2, listed at $380, and the Oakley Meta HSTN. Meta separately offered 20% off prescription lenses bought through Meta. Note the pattern rather than the percentage: the discount landed on the outgoing generation, and today’s $224 Gen 1 price on meta.com is already below what that 2025 sale produced. One year is not a rule, and discounts vary by retailer and by year.

How to shop it without getting caught out

• Compare the same model, generation and lens.Wayfarer comes in Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 at $224, $379 and $449 on meta.com today. A “Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer” at a low price is often the oldest one; check the generation and the lens type before comparing numbers.

• Price the whole order. Add prescription lenses if you need them, plus shipping and sales tax at each store, before you compare totals.

What actually moves the price

Thirteen models across a $575 spread are not thirteen decisions. Three variables account for almost all of it, and they are worth knowing in this order.

1. Generation

Worth: up to $155 on the same silhouette.

The Gen 1 Wayfarer and Skyler sit at $224 on sale, against a $299 list price. The Gen 2 versions of those same two silhouettes are $379. That is the widest gap on the table created by nothing but a model year. Generational upgrades in this category have mostly been camera resolution, battery and assistant capability rather than a change of product class, so the outgoing generation reads as an upgrade skipped rather than a compromise taken.

2. Which brand is on the frame

Worth: up to $100 between brand entry points — $299 Meta-branded, $379 Ray-Ban current generation, $399 Oakley.

Three brands share the table and each sets its own floor. The Meta-branded frames (Adventurer from $249; Capri, Nova and Fury at $299) sit below the Starfire Kylie Edition at $399. The camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio starts at $349 and the new Gen 3 at $449 (both checked on meta.com, September 30, 2026). Ray-Ban runs $224 on the outgoing generation, $379 on the current one, and $499 for the Blayzer and Scriber Optics models. Oakley starts at $399 for the HSTN and $499 for the Vanguard.

Strip the branding and a pair of big-tech smart glasses is the same short list of parts: a camera, microphones, open-ear speakers, a voice assistant and a battery, wrapped in a licensed fashion frame and wired into a social platform. At these prices the frame is a large part of what you are choosing between, and that is a legitimate thing to pay for if the frame is why you want them. It is only a bad deal if you thought you were buying a different camera.

3. Display or no display

Worth: $300, and it is the single biggest step on the table.

The last row is a different product from every row above it. The Meta Ray-Ban Display starts at $799 and ships with a Neural Band; everything cheaper on this list has no display of any kind. A display in the lens needs an optical engine and a waveguide, the most expensive component in smart eyewear, which is why one step costs more than the whole distance between the cheapest and the most expensive camera-only frame. If reading text with both hands busy is genuinely on your list, that is the model. If it is not, that is $300 for a component you will never switch on.

What the sticker price does not tell you

• This table is a snapshot, and it is dated on purpose. The Gen 1 sale is the proof that these numbers move: $224 against a struck-through $299 is a temporary state, not a tier. Any price page in this category that does not say when it was written is telling you less than it appears to.
• Financing is offered, and it is not a discount. A monthly payment option sits next to these frames on the shop page. It changes when you pay, not what you pay.
• The $799 model is in-store only. It is the one item on the list you cannot simply put in a cart from your sofa, which is a real cost in time if there is no shop near you.
• A platform account comes with the hardware. Big-tech smart glasses are wired into a social platform by design: the account is what makes livestreaming and voice-sent messages work, and it is a structural property of the product rather than a setting you decline after buying. It is not a line on the price tag, and it is part of what you agree to.

What $149 to $199 buys instead

Here is the declared interest: we make AI eyewear in the $149 to $199 band, so weigh this section accordingly. The useful way to read it is as two lists — what a cheaper frame gives up, and what it does not.

What you give up against every model in the table above: the fashion licence, because there is no Ray-Ban and no Oakley on our frames and no spec compensates for that if recognition is part of the point; the platform integration, so no livestream from your face and no message sent by voice into a social app; a display, which nothing under $200 has, ours included; and a shop to try them on in.

What you do not give up: an 8 MP camera triggered by one deliberate touch, open-ear directional audio, Bluetooth 5.4, and live two-way translation — 40+ languages on the M08 family, 139 on the M14 — through a free companion app on iOS 14+ or Android 9+. No social login at any stage, no subscription, and no ad profile attached to what the glasses see and hear.

The M14 is not a bigger M08: its battery splits the other way (4 h listening, 7 h calls) and its one-piece shield does not swap for another lens. Free shipping from $99, flat $9.99 below it. 2. You post to Meta platforms from your face. Buy Meta and stop reading comparison pages. Nothing in the $149 to $199 band replicates it. Budget $379 for the current generation, or $224 for the outgoing one.
3. You cross languages regularly. This is where the cheaper tier out-performs its price, because translation is treated as a headline feature rather than a secondary one: 40+ languages two-way from $99 at checkout, and 139 on the M14 at $149 at checkout.
4. You must read text with both hands busy. Navigation in traffic, live captions. That is the $799 Display, in store. Nothing else on either list puts words in front of your eye, and anyone telling you otherwise under $200 is selling you something.

Meta glasses cost $224 to $799 today, and the honest caveat is in the word today: two of those thirteen are sale prices and the rest are a season away from moving. The three things that move them are generation, the brand on the frame and whether there is a display, in that order of consequence.
