Cheap Meta glasses: every way to pay less, checked on Meta.

The cheapest Meta glasses you can buy new

Meta sells more than twenty styles under three names, and the price spread is wide. Here they are cheapest first, as listed on Meta’s shop (checked September 30, 2026). “From” is the lowest configuration; many colours and lens types cost more.

If you search for cheap Meta glasses, the line worth noticing is the Adventurer. At $249 it is $25 more than the Gen 1 sale, but Meta lists it with a 12 MP camera, 3K video and over 8 hours of battery, where the Gen 1 page lists up to 4 hours on a single charge. The $249 is Meta’s “starting at” figure: the Classic Tortoise pair with brown lenses we opened cost $299, so check which colour and case option the low price applies to. Older generations: Gen 1 Ray-Ban Meta at $224

The cheapest new Ray-Ban Meta pair is the first generation, marked down after Gen 2 and Gen 3 arrived. What you give up, going by Meta’s own Gen 1 and Gen 2 pages:

• Battery: up to 4 hours on a single charge (Gen 1) against up to 8 hours (Gen 2) and up to 9 hours (Gen 3).
• Video: Gen 2 and Gen 3 record 3K; Meta describes Gen 2 as sharper than Gen 1.
• Translation: the Gen 1 page lists French, Italian, Spanish and English; the Gen 2 page lists 20 languages.

What stays the same is the core: a 12 MP camera, open-ear speakers, calls, messages and Meta AI. One practical catch: the Gen 1 Wayfarer in Shiny Black with green lenses showed out of stock when we checked, so the sale depends on which colours are left. Refurbished Meta glasses: from $197 with a warranty

The cheapest Meta glasses with a warranty come from Meta itself. Meta runs its own refurbished store. On September 30, 2026 it listed only first-generation Ray-Ban Meta: the Wayfarer starting at $197 and the Skyler starting at $227, described as “like-new products” backed by a one-year limited warranty. No Gen 2, Gen 3, Oakley Meta or Display units were listed. That makes a refurbished Wayfarer the cheapest way to buy Meta glasses with a Meta warranty behind it. Used Meta glasses: what to check before you pay

A private sale on a marketplace can go below $197, but it moves the risk onto you. A used pair usually comes without the one-year warranty Meta attaches to its own refurbished units, and the battery is the part that wears. Used is the cheapest route to Meta glasses, and the riskiest. If you buy used, check these in order:

1. The model and generation.Ask for the exact name (Wayfarer Gen 1, Gen 2 and so on) and compare the asking price with Meta’s refurbished and sale prices above.
2. The battery.Ask how long the glasses last now on a full charge, and compare it with Meta’s figure for that generation.
3. The charging case. The glasses charge in their case. A missing or faulty case is a real cost to replace.
4. The camera window and lenses. A scratch over the camera shows up in every photo.
5. Unpaired and reset. Ask the seller to remove the glasses from their Meta AI app and reset them, so you can set them up on your own account.
6. Meet or use buyer protection. Test photos, audio and a call before money changes hands, or pay through a platform that protects buyers.

When Meta glasses go on sale

We don’t predict Meta’s discounts and won’t quote an expected sale price. Two things are visible from Meta’s own shop. First, older generations get marked down once newer ones launch: Gen 1 sold for $224 on sale against $299 while Gen 3 sold from $449. Second, Meta offers trade-in credit on its product pages; the Gen 2 Wayfarer page offered “up to a $113 credit” when we checked. Meta also shows monthly financing through Affirm; that spreads the payment, it doesn’t lower the price. If you need prescription lenses, Meta lists them as HSA and FSA eligible.

Are there knock-off Meta glasses?

Yes. Marketplace listings sometimes borrow Ray-Ban Meta styling or the Meta name without being made by Meta. A knock-off has no Meta AI and no Meta warranty, and often no traceable company. Smart glasses cheap: non-Meta options under $200

3. You want the Ray-Ban name for the least money: the Gen 1 Wayfarer or Skyler at $224 while stock lasts.
4. You want a camera, audio and translation and don’t need Meta AI: the OXIVUE M08 at $149, or the M02C at $159 for IP65 and a visual assistant.
5. You need prescription lenses:buy Meta. We don’t offer them.

Bottom line

Cheap Meta glasses exist, just not as a budget model. The floor on September 30, 2026 was a refurbished Gen 1 Wayfarer at $197 from Meta, then the Gen 1 sale at $224 and the Meta Adventurer from $249. A used pair can cost less, but check the battery, the case and the pairing, and accept that the warranty is usually gone.
