Where to buy smart glasses: Best Buy, a store near you, or online.

Searching for smart glasses at Best Buy or near you usually means one of two things: you want to hold a pair before paying, or you want it today. This guide covers the three places you can actually buy them — big-box retail, optical and brand stores, and buying direct online — with what each lets you test, what it can't, and what the shelves held when we checked on October 4, 2026.

1. Three ways to buy smart glasses, compared

The Google results for “smart glasses best buy” are almost all Best Buy’s own category pages, which tells you what most people want: somewhere to see a pair in person. That is one of three channels, and each trades something different.

2. What Best Buy stocks (checked 2026-10-04)

Best Buy splits the category across several pages. On October 4, 2026 its main Smart Glasses page had a brand filter listing Oakley Meta, PRIMEPLUS, Everysight, Chamelo, OhO sunshine, Nautica, Lenovo and XREAL among ten brands, and Ray-Ban Meta had its own section with 74 items. We saw only the first listings on each page, so this is a sample, not the full range or the lowest price. These are the prices we saw that day:

Model at Best BuyPrice (checked 2026-10-04)
Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 1), Transitions lenses$284
Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 2), clear lenses$379
Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 3), clear lenses$449
Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 3), Transitions Grey lenses$529
Oakley Meta HSTN, Prizm Polarized lenses$449
Oakley Meta HSTN, Clear to Brown Transitions lenses$479
Oakley Meta Vanguard, Prizm lenses$499

Two things worth knowing. First, some brands in that filter make audio-only glasses or display glasses that plug into a phone or console, not camera AI glasses, so read the product title before you drive over. Second, Best Buy’s Ray-Ban Meta page offers prescription lensesfor Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta frames and says they are FSA/HSA eligible. If you need your prescription in the frame, that is a real reason to buy Meta’s glasses there. Whether a particular store has a pair on the shelf, or a display unit to try, varies by location; Best Buy’s site shows pickup availability per store.

We do not sell through Best Buy. OXIVUE glasses are sold direct online only, which is part of how the M08 is $149 while the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 2) we saw was $379.

3. Optical, carrier and brand stores near you

Meta publishes its own list of authorised retailers. On October 4, 2026 the US names on that page included Amazon, AT&T, Best Buy, B&H, Micro Center, Target, T-Mobile, Verizon and Walmart, plus several Meta Lab stores. Its display model, Meta Ray-Ban Display, was listed in the US at Best Buy and Verizon only. For every channel Meta names, and how prescriptions and demos differ between them, see our where to buy Meta glasses guide.

  • Brand storessuch as Meta Lab are the most likely place to find a brand’s range on display and staff who know it.
  • Carrier stores(AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon are on Meta’s list) sell its glasses alongside phones; which models a given store carries varies.
  • Optical and sunglass shops are the right place if fit and lenses matter more than electronics. Ask before you go whether they stock smart frames at all.

A search for “AI glasses near me” or “camera glasses near me” will almost always surface Meta’s glasses, because they are the brand with retail distribution. Most other camera-glasses brands, OXIVUE included, sell online.

4. What you can and can’t test in a store

A display pair is worth ten minutes. Use them on the things a store can actually show you:

  • Fit and weight. How the frame sits on your nose and behind your ears, and whether it slides when you look down.
  • Open-ear sound. How loud the speakers go, and how much a person next to you hears.
  • Controls. Where the capture button or touch area is, and whether you can find it without looking.
  • Look. How visible the camera is, which matters to the people around you.

And the things a store visit cannot tell you:

  • Battery over a real day. Ratings are in hours. The OXIVUE M08 family is rated around 7 hours of listening and 4 hours of calls; the M14 is the reverse at 4 hours of listening and 7 hours of calls.
  • Translation in your language pair. Translation runs through a phone app, and the audio is heard only by the wearer. Test the languages you need at home.
  • Your phone.Pairing and photo transfer happen in the brand’s app on your own phone, which a demo pair is not connected to.
  • Prescription fit. If you need prescription lenses, only the brands and stores that make them can help. OXIVUE frames do not support prescription lenses.

5. Buying direct online

Buying direct means no shelf, no demo pair and a wait for delivery. In return you get brands that are not in stores, and usually a lower price. This is how OXIVUE sells, and here is the full in-stock eyewear range with list prices from our product pages:

Our starting suggestion for most people searching this page is the M08 with sun lenses at $149: a full-tint sunglass frame with an 8 MP camera and open-ear audio, for hiking, driving and fishing. Choose the M02C at $159if you want IP65 water resistance and the “Hey Cyan” visual AI, or the M08C at $169 for a gold or silver trim that suits work and the golf course. The M14 at $199is a different design entirely — a 52 g wrap shield for skiing and cycling — and shares almost none of the M08 family’s specs.

Delivery, returns and warranty. US orders typically arrive in 5–9 business days; international orders in 9–14 business days. Shipping is free on orders from $99. OXIVUE does not offer refunds; the one exception is an order that arrives damaged in transit, which we replace or refund. A fault after delivery is covered by the 2-year eyewear warranty through repair or replacement. If being able to return a pair matters to you, buying in a store with a returns policy is a reasonable choice.

6. Before you buy anywhere

  1. Decide whether you need prescription lenses. If yes, your options narrow to brands that make them; OXIVUE is not one.
  2. Decide camera or no camera. Some “smart glasses” on store shelves are audio-only or display glasses with no camera.
  3. Check the store’s pickup page before driving over, and ask whether there is a display pair to try.
  4. Read the returns terms of the seller you choose. They differ a lot between retailers and brands.
  5. Compare the full price, not just the frame: lens upgrades, cases and shipping all move it. Our smart glasses cost guide breaks that down, and the best AI glasses under $200 list covers the cheaper end.

Frequently asked questions

What smart glasses does Best Buy sell?

When we checked Best Buy's smart glasses pages on October 4, 2026, the main category's brand filter listed Oakley Meta, PRIMEPLUS, Everysight, Chamelo, OhO sunshine, Nautica, Lenovo and XREAL among ten brands, and a separate Ray-Ban Meta section listed 74 items. Prices we saw included Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 1 at $284, Wayfarer Gen 2 at $379, the new Wayfarer Gen 3 at $449 (clear) and $529 (Transitions Grey), Oakley Meta HSTN at $449 and $479, and Oakley Meta Vanguard at $499. Ranges change often, so check the live page before you go.

Where can I buy smart glasses near me?

In the US, the realistic options are big-box electronics stores such as Best Buy, carrier stores and general retailers that Meta lists as authorised sellers (Amazon, AT&T, B&H, Micro Center, Target, T-Mobile, Verizon and Walmart are on its list), Meta Lab stores in a few cities, and optical or sunglass shops for Ray-Ban Meta. Stock and demo units vary by store, so call ahead. Brands that sell direct online, OXIVUE included, are not on store shelves.

Can I try on smart glasses before I buy?

Sometimes. A store with a display or demo pair lets you check fit, weight, nose-bridge comfort, how loud the open-ear speakers are and how the controls feel. It usually can't tell you real battery life over a day, whether translation works in your language pair, or how the app behaves on your own phone. OXIVUE is sold online only, so there is no in-store try-on for our frames.

Which smart glasses are the best?

It depends on what you will do with them. For an everyday camera and audio pair under $200, we would start with the OXIVUE M08 with sun lenses at $149, the M02C at $159 if you want IP65 water resistance and visual AI, or the M08C at $169 for a metal-trim frame. If you need prescription lenses, Meta's AI glasses are sold with prescription options and OXIVUE frames are not.

Is it worth buying smart glasses?

Worth it if you would use hands-free photos and video, open-ear calls and music, or live translation several times a week. Not worth it if you want a display in your vision (camera AI glasses like ours have none), a full day of continuous audio, or a replacement for prescription glasses. Price matters too: the OXIVUE M08 is $149, while the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta models we saw at Best Buy on October 4, 2026 included $379 for the Wayfarer Gen 2 and $529 for the Wayfarer Gen 3 with Transitions Grey lenses.

What are the downsides of smart glasses?

Battery life is measured in hours, not days. Open-ear audio leaks a little in a quiet room. A visible camera on your face raises privacy and recording-law questions, especially for audio. Lens choice is limited compared with ordinary eyewear, and OXIVUE frames do not take prescription lenses. Translation audio is heard only by the wearer, so the other person reads or hears your side through the phone app.

Is it cheaper to buy smart glasses online or in a store?

For the same product, big retailers usually match the brand's list price, so the saving is rarely the store. The bigger price difference is between brands: the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 1) was $284 at Best Buy when we checked on October 4, 2026, while OXIVUE sells direct online from $149 for the M08, with free shipping on orders from $99.

How long does delivery take if I buy OXIVUE online?

US orders typically arrive in 5–9 business days and international orders in 9–14 business days. Shipping is free on orders from $99. OXIVUE does not offer refunds; the one exception is an order that arrives damaged in transit, which we replace or refund. Faults after delivery are covered by the 2-year eyewear warranty through repair or replacement.

What these frames won’t do

  • No prescription lenses yet, on any model. If you need vision correction all day, these can't replace your glasses.
  • No display. Nothing appears in your view; you hear answers and capture photos and video.
  • Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and won't block out a loud train or a windy road the way sealed earbuds do.
  • Translation, music, calls and the assistant need your phone nearby and connected. Translation pauses after each sentence, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone.
  • M08: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
  • M02C: IP65 resists dust and water jets, not immersion. No swimming, no saltwater.
  • M08C: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.

Check these before you order: see the warranty and refund policy.
