Thanksgiving gifts · 2026
Thanksgiving gifts for adults, sorted by what you want to spend
Most Thanksgiving gifts are small: a thank-you for the host or a token for guests. Some adults on your list deserve more, especially family you see once a year. This guide gives good Thanksgiving gift ideas at three budgets, under $25, $25 to $75 and around $100, and says plainly where the one product we make fits and where it does not.

1. Start with who you are buying for, not the budget
Thanksgiving gifts fall into three groups, and each has its own sensible price. The host gets a thank-you, usually under $25. Guests get a token, if anything. One or two people you are close to, or family you only see this one weekend, might get something more personal. Spending big on the host can make the evening awkward; spending little on the brother you have not seen since last November can feel thin.
The pages that rank for this search are mostly food baskets and personalised decor, and those are fine for hosts. For adults who already have a full pantry, a gift that matches what they do on a Saturday tends to land better. The “5 gift rule” families use for holidays is a useful filter here: something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read and something to do. Pick one of those for each person rather than one of everything.
2. Under $25: gifts for the host and for guests
Under $25 is the right budget for nearly every host and guest gift. The aim is a thank-you that can be used up or kept on a shelf, not a present that needs unwrapping in front of everyone. Ideas that usually fit:
- Something homemade. A jar of jam, spiced nuts, a loaf of bread or a batch of cookies, labelled with what it is.
- Coffee or tea for the morning after. A host has cooked for hours; a small bag of good coffee or loose tea is for them, not for the table.
- Flowers already in a vase. Loose stems send the host hunting for a vase while the gravy needs stirring.
- A printed photo. One good picture from last year’s gathering, in a simple frame.
- A handwritten card. Say what you are thankful for about the person. It costs almost nothing and is often what gets kept.
Prices for all of these vary by maker and shop. We do not sell them and have not priced specific products, so treat the budget as a guide.
3. $25 to $75: gifts for close family and friends
The $25 to $75 range suits the adults you are closest to: a parent, a sibling, a friend who is hosting for the first time. Unique Thanksgiving gifts at this level are usually about an experience or a hobby rather than another object for the kitchen.
- A class or an outing.A cooking class, a pottery session or tickets to something local. These cover the “something to do” slot and come with a date to look forward to.
- A food or drink basket chosen for them. Pick around what they actually eat; a basket built for one person beats a generic one.
- A book with a note inside. A cookbook for a keen cook, or a book you have read and want to talk about.
- Something warm. A blanket, a scarf or good gloves for late-November walks after dinner.
- A family recipe, written down. Copy out the dish everyone asks for each year and give it with the ingredients for one batch.

4. Around $100: camera sunglasses for the outdoorsy or commuting adult
Around $100 is where our own product fits, and only for a certain kind of adult. OXIVUE makes camera sunglasses: frames with an 8 MP camera in the corner, open-ear speakers and microphones, connected to a phone over Bluetooth 5.4. A single pair is $99 to $149 at checkout, and two or more pairs in one order are 50% off all eyewear, which suits a couple or two siblings. OXIVUE publishes this page, so weigh the ideas above alongside it.
They make sense for someone who walks the dog, hikes, cycles, fishes or commutes on foot, and who would use them for music, podcasts and calls without earbuds while still hearing the street. A touch on the temple takes a photo or starts a clip, so a view on a hike or a moment at the park can be caught without reaching for the phone.
- M08, $99 at checkout ($149 listed). About 42 g, 7 hours of listening and 4 hours of calls, and a choice of sun, photochromic or clear lens. It has no published water rating, so it suits dry days and everyday wear.
- M02C, $109 at checkout ($159 listed). About 41 g with magnetic charging, a Sony IMX219 8 MP sensor and an IP65 rating for dust and water jets (not immersion), so rain on a walk is covered. Its “Hey Cyan” visual AI can describe what the wearer is looking at.
- M14, $149 at checkout ($199 listed). A one-piece wrap shield for cycling and skiing, 52 g, rated IPX4 for splashes and rain. The shield comes in four colourways (Nero, Azzurro, Ghiaccio, Tramonto) and is not swappable. Battery is rated 4 hours of listening and 7 hours of calls.
All three work with the HeyCyan phone app, which handles translation (40+ languages on the M08 and M02C, 139 on the M14), the assistant and moving files to the phone. There is no subscription. For more on picking a pair as a present, see our smart glasses gift guide.
5. The three pairs compared
The M08 is the $99 pair, the M02C adds IP65, and the M14 is the one built for the bike. The table puts the facts side by side.

Prices checked 2026-10-20; checkout price may change. Every single pair ships free, because free shipping starts at $99. The full spec sheet for every model is on the comparison page.
A simple way to choose: if the person rides a bike or skis, the M14. If they walk or hike in any weather, the M02C. If they mostly want sunglasses with music and calls for dry days, the M08. For more ideas by hobby, see gifts for hikers, gifts for cyclists and gifts for commuters.
6. Who camera sunglasses are not a good gift for
Three limits rule out a lot of people, and it is better to know them before Thanksgiving than after. No refunds except transit damage (replaced or refunded); faults are repaired or replaced under the 2-year warranty; change of mind and unmet expectations are not refundable.
- Prescription wearers. None of our frames take prescription lenses. If the person wears glasses all day, choose one of the other ideas on this page.
- Anyone expecting a screen. There is no display in the lens. Photos, clips and translations are handled in the phone app.
- Someone who will not use a phone app. Music and calls work over Bluetooth, but translation, the assistant and getting photos off the glasses need the HeyCyan app. It does not need a Meta, Facebook or Instagram account.
- A gift for the dinner table itself. If the person would mainly use them to film the family, think twice. Ask before photographing or filming relatives and guests, especially other people’s children; every capture starts with a visible touch on the temple. Our recording laws by state guide covers audio consent.
7. Timing, delivery and wrapping
US delivery takes 5–9 business days; to have them by Thanksgiving, order by about November 13. Thanksgiving in the US falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026. Shipping is free from $99 and $9.99 below that, so every single pair here ships free. We ship to 39 countries, including Canada, the UK and the EU; international orders take 9–14 business days after shipment, and import VAT or duties are paid by the recipient on delivery.
If the date is tight, give the card and the idea on the day and let the glasses follow. For an adult you see only at Thanksgiving, that also gives them something to open later. Our shipping policy lists every country.
Shipping, refunds and warranty. Free shipping from $99. US orders typically arrive in 5–9 business days; international orders take 9–14 business days. OXIVUE does not offer refunds except for an order damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded. Faults after delivery are covered by the 2-year warranty through repair or replacement. None of our frames take prescription lenses. Read the full return policy before you order a gift.
Frequently asked questions
Are gifts given for Thanksgiving?
Sometimes, but it is not expected the way it is at Christmas. The common Thanksgiving gift is a small thank-you for the host: food, drink, flowers or something for the table. Bigger gifts tend to go to family you see only once a year, or to someone who is hosting for the first time. If you are unsure, bring something small for the host and keep anything bigger for a moment away from the table.
What is the 5 gift rule for adults?
It is a simple way to limit a gift list: something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read and something to do. Families use it to keep holiday spending under control. For Thanksgiving it works as a filter. A food basket covers need, a book covers read, and a cooking class or a day trip covers do. Camera sunglasses sit in want and wear.
What are some good gifts to give Thanksgiving guests?
Small and consumable usually works: a jar of something homemade, a small bag of coffee or tea, a printed photo from the day, or leftovers packed in a container they can keep. Guest gifts are about saying thank you for coming, so keep them under about $25 each. Save the bigger gifts on this page for one person you know well.
What is a thoughtful Thanksgiving gift for an adult?
One that matches how they spend their weekends. A host who cooks gets something for the kitchen, a reader gets a book with a note, and a walker or cyclist gets something for the outdoors. A handwritten card saying what you are thankful for about them often matters more than the price, and it costs almost nothing.
Are camera sunglasses a good Thanksgiving gift for adults?
Yes, for an adult who spends time outdoors or commutes and likes music or calls without earbuds. The OXIVUE M08 is $99 at checkout, the M02C $109 and the M14 $149. They are a poor fit for someone who needs prescription lenses, wants a display in the lens, or would not use a phone app, because none of our frames take prescription lenses or have a display.
Will they arrive before Thanksgiving?
US delivery takes 5–9 business days; to have them by Thanksgiving, order by about November 13. That is a guide, not a promise of arrival by a date. International orders take 9–14 business days after shipment, and import VAT or duties outside the US are paid by the recipient on delivery.
Can the person I give them to return them?
No. OXIVUE does not offer refunds; the only exception is an order damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded. Faults after delivery are repaired or replaced under the 2-year warranty. Because a gift cannot be sent back for a change of mind, it is worth checking that the person does not need prescription lenses before you order.
What these frames won’t do
- No prescription lenses yet, on any model. If you need vision correction all day, these can't replace your glasses.
- No display. Nothing appears in your view; you hear answers and capture photos and video.
- Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and won't block out a loud train or a windy road the way sealed earbuds do.
- Translation, music, calls and the assistant need your phone nearby and connected. Translation pauses after each sentence, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone.
- M08: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
- M02C: IP65 resists dust and water jets, not immersion. No swimming, no saltwater.
- M14: one-piece shield, so the lens can't be swapped for clear or photochromic.
- M14: IPX4 covers splash, spray and rain only, and at 52 g it is heavier than the 41–42 g frames.
Check these before you order: see the warranty and refund policy.
