Lineup guide · 2026
Ray-Ban smart glasses: every model, style and price in one place.
Ray-Ban smart glasses are not one product any more. Meta now sells five Ray-Ban lines side by side, across a dozen frame shapes, from $224 to $799. This is the lineup explained: what each generation does, which styles it comes in, what it costs on Meta's own store, and where cheaper non-Ray-Ban glasses fit. We make one of those cheaper options, so that part is declared interest.

What are Ray-Ban smart glasses?
Ray-Ban smart glasses are the Ray-Ban frames that Meta and EssilorLuxottica build together and sell under the name Ray-Ban Meta. They look like ordinary Ray-Bans, but the frame hides a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, open-ear speakers in the arms, a microphone array and a battery, and they pair with the Meta AI app on your phone. You take photos and video by pressing a button or by voice, listen to music and calls without earbuds, and ask the Meta AI assistant questions, including about what the camera sees.
The search term “Ray-Ban smart glasses” now covers five separate product lines, and they do not all do the same things. Two are not even camera glasses in the usual sense: Ray-Ban Meta Audio has no camera, and the Meta Ray-Ban Display is the only one with a screen in the lens. If you are reading reviews, check which generation the reviewer had, because a two-year-old Ray-Ban Meta review describes a different battery and camera from the pair on sale today. For a feature-by-feature walk-through of what Meta’s glasses actually do, see what do Meta glasses do.

Ray-Ban smart glasses styles: Wayfarer, Skyler, Headliner, Aviator, Zena and more
The style decides which generation you can have, because Meta has not released every shape in every generation. Here is which frame lives where, as listed on Meta’s store.
- Wayfarer— the only shape in Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 at once. If you searched for Ray-Ban Wayfarer smart glasses, you have three prices to choose from: $224, $379 or $449. Gen 3 Wayfarer comes in 8 colours and two sizes; the standard size weighs 51.5 g.
- Skyler— sold in Gen 1 ($224) and Gen 2 (from $379, 8 colours).
- Headliner— sold in Gen 2, from $379 in 7 colours.
- Aviator— new in Gen 3, in 6 colours. Meta is also releasing a limited-edition vintage-inspired Aviator for the style’s 90th anniversary.
- Zena— new in Gen 3; Meta calls it a bold new cat-eye frame.
- Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics— the Gen 2 Optics frames, from $499.
- Clubmaster and Burbank— the two Ray-Ban Meta Audio styles, a browline and a rectangle, in 23 colour and lens combinations between them.
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 alone comes in 27 colour and lens combinations across its three styles, according to Meta. Meta’s store also offers virtual try-on, which is worth using before you pick a shape, because the same style can sit very differently on different faces.
Ray-Ban AI glasses by generation: Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3
Generational upgrades in Ray-Ban Meta have mostly been battery, video and audio rather than a new kind of product. These are the figures Meta publishes on the Wayfarer page for each generation.
| Wayfarer | Gen 1 | Gen 2 | Gen 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price (from) | $224 | $379 | $449 |
| Camera | 12 MP ultra-wide | 12 MP ultra-wide | 12 MP ultra-wide |
| Top video mode | Not restated on the page | 3K Ultra HD, 30 fps | 3K Ultra HD, 30 fps |
| Battery on one charge | Up to 4 h | Up to 8 h | Up to 9 h |
| Extra from the case | 36 h total with case | Up to 48 h | Up to 50 h |
| Microphones | 5 | 5 | 6 |
| Frame weight (standard) | Not listed | 51 g | 51.5 g |
Gen 3 also adds a customizable action button and the new Aviator and Zena shapes. The full history, including when Gen 2 got its 3K video, is in our Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 vs Gen 1 comparison, and the newest model has its own page: Meta glasses Gen 3. Note that the Gen 1 Wayfarer showed “Out of stock” in the colour we checked (Shiny Black, green lenses), and Meta points Gen 1 shoppers to Gen 2, so the $224 price may not last.
Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Meta Ray-Ban Display: the two outliers
Ray-Ban Meta Audiois Meta’s first pair of audio glasses: no camera, just open-ear speakers, microphones and the AI assistant. Meta says they weigh 43 grams and run up to 12 hours on a charge, with up to 48 more from the case. They are on pre-order from $349 and ship October 13, 2026. If the camera is the thing that makes you hesitate, at work or around family, this is the Ray-Ban that removes it.
Meta Ray-Ban Display is the only Ray-Ban smart glasses with a screen: a full-colour, 600 by 600 pixel display built into the right lens, controlled with a Meta Neural Band on your wrist. It shows messages, Meta AI answers, live captions, walking directions and a camera viewfinder. It starts at $799 including the band, lists up to 6 hours of mixed use, and Meta recommends an in-person demo and fitting before you buy, according to Meta’s Display page (checked September 30, 2026). If a display is why you are here, our guide to smart glasses with a display covers every type.
Do Ray-Ban smart glasses need a subscription or a monthly fee?
Meta’s store sells each pair at a one-off price. The monthly amounts printed beside the prices (for example “$19/month” on Gen 3) are optional Affirm financing, not a subscription. What does come with the hardware is an account: the glasses run through the Meta AI app, and the Gen 3 product page notes that “additional account registration, terms and fees may apply” for some features, while messaging and music features need the relevant apps. That is worth knowing before you buy, not a hidden charge on the receipt.
Are Ray-Ban smart glasses worth it? How to choose in five steps
- Decide whether you want a camera. No camera: Ray-Ban Meta Audio from $349. Camera: every other line.
- Decide whether you need to read things. Only the Meta Ray-Ban Display, at $799, shows text in the lens. Everything else is audio-only output.
- Pick the shape first, then the generation. Aviator and Zena exist only in Gen 3; Skyler and Headliner only in older generations; Wayfarer in all three.
- Check prescription needs. Gen 2 and Gen 3 list a -12.00 to +6.00 range; the Display lists -4.00 to +4.00.
- Set the budget against what changes. The $70 from Gen 2 to Gen 3 buys an hour of battery, a sixth microphone, the action button and the new shapes. The $155 from Gen 1 to Gen 2 buys longer battery and 3K video.

Cheaper smart glasses that are not Ray-Ban
If the reason you want Ray-Ban smart glasses is the camera, open-ear audio and translation rather than the Ray-Ban name, the same set of features exists below $200 from other makers. We make one of them, so read this section with that in mind. What you give up is real: no Ray-Ban frame, no Meta AI, no Instagram or WhatsApp integration, no display, and no prescription lenses. What you keep is an 8 MP camera, open-ear audio and two-way translation through a free app, with no social account and no subscription.
| OXIVUE frame | Price | Weight | What stands out |
|---|---|---|---|
| M08 | $149 | ~42 g | 8 MP camera, 40+ languages, 7 h listening, sun / clear / photochromic lenses |
| M02C | $159 | ~41 g | Sony 219 sensor with dual stabilization, IP65, “Hey Cyan” visual AI |
| M08C | $169 | ~42 g | Gold or silver trim, built around meetings and calls |
| M14 | $199 | 52 g | Wrap sport shield, 1080p 30 fps with EIS, 139 languages, IPX4 |
Prices are list prices; one pair is currently $50 off at checkout, applied automatically. Every spec sits side by side on our comparison page. Bottom line
Ray-Ban smart glasses are now a family: Gen 1 from $224, Gen 2 from $379, Gen 3 from $449, camera-free Audio from $349 and the $799 Display. Choose the shape you like, then the generation that offers it, and buy Ray-Ban Meta if the Ray-Ban frame, Meta AI or prescription lenses matter to you. If what you actually want is a camera, open-ear audio and translation at a lower price, the OXIVUE M08 at $149 covers that with no account to sign up for, and the M02C at $159adds IP65 and a visual assistant. US orders arrive in 5–9 business days, with free shipping from $99 and a 2-year warranty on the frame.
Frequently asked questions
What are Ray-Ban smart glasses?
Ray-Ban smart glasses are Ray-Ban frames made with Meta, sold as Ray-Ban Meta. Most have a 12 MP camera, open-ear speakers in the arms, a microphone array and the Meta AI voice assistant, and work with the Meta AI app on your phone. As of September 30, 2026 Meta sells five lines: Gen 1 from $224, Gen 2 from $379, Gen 3 from $449, the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio from $349 and the Meta Ray-Ban Display from $799.
Are Ray-Ban smart glasses any good?
They are the best-known smart glasses for a reason: a recognised frame, a 12 MP camera, 3K video on Gen 2 and Gen 3, and deep integration with Meta's apps. Whether they are good for you depends on the trade-offs: they run through the Meta AI app and its account, they start at $224 for an outgoing generation and $449 for the newest one, and only one model has a display. We have not tested them hands-on; these figures come from Meta's own pages.
How much are Ray-Ban smart glasses?
On Meta's US store on September 30, 2026: Gen 1 Wayfarer and Skyler $224 (shown against a $299 list price), Gen 2 Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner from $379, Gen 2 Blayzer and Scriber Optics from $499, Gen 3 Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena from $449, Ray-Ban Meta Audio from $349 on pre-order, and Meta Ray-Ban Display from $799 including the Neural Band.
Do you have to pay a monthly fee to use Ray-Ban Meta glasses?
Meta's shop lists a one-off price for each pair. The monthly figures shown beside it are optional Affirm financing, which spreads the price rather than adding a subscription. Meta's product pages do note that additional account registration, terms and fees may apply for certain features, and some services such as music apps need their own accounts.
Can I watch Netflix on Ray-Ban smart glasses?
No. Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3 and Audio have no display at all; everything they give you is heard, not seen. The Meta Ray-Ban Display has a 600 by 600 pixel display in the right lens for messages, captions, navigation and Meta AI answers, but it is not sold as a video-watching screen. For films, look at tethered video glasses instead.
Are there Ray-Ban Wayfarer smart glasses?
Yes. The Wayfarer is the one style Meta sells in three generations at once: Gen 1 at $224, Gen 2 from $379 and Gen 3 from $449, checked on Meta's store on September 30, 2026. Gen 3 Wayfarer weighs 51.5 g in the standard size, records 3K video with a 12 MP camera and lists up to 9 hours of battery.
Do Ray-Ban smart glasses work with prescription lenses?
Yes. Meta lists Gen 2 and Gen 3 frames as prescription-ready with a range of -12.00 to +6.00 total power. The Meta Ray-Ban Display has a narrower range, -4.00 to +4.00, at an extra $200. If you need prescription lenses, this is one of the real advantages of buying Ray-Ban Meta: OXIVUE does not currently offer prescription lenses.
