Gifts for men · Christmas 2026
Christmas gifts for men, sorted by what he is actually into
A Christmas gift for a man misses when it is chosen for 'a man' rather than for him. This guide works the other way round. Find his main interest below, outdoors, gym, kitchen, travel, music, tech or the office, and pick from the gift categories that make that interest better. We sell camera smart glasses, and they appear once, where they genuinely fit.

1. Start with his interest, not with “gifts for men”
A gift tied to something he already does gets used; a gift that asks him to start a new hobby usually doesn’t. So before you open a single shop, answer one question: where do his free Saturday and his spare money already go? That answer is his interest, and it tells you which section of this page to read.
Inside any interest there are three kinds of gift that tend to work. An upgrade replaces something he uses and has worn out or outgrown. A service improves gear or skill he already has: a tune-up, a fitting, a lesson. An experienceis a day inside the hobby he wouldn’t book for himself. The table gives you a starting point for each interest.
| His interest | Upgrade | Service or experience | Camera smart glasses? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outdoors: hiking, fishing, driving | Better layers, a pack, a headlamp | A guided day on new trail or water | Yes: M08 ($99 at checkout) |
| Gym and training | Shoes for his sport, a gym bag, recovery tools | A session with a coach, a race entry | Not for lifting indoors |
| Kitchen and grill | A knife, a heavy pan, a thermometer | A cooking class, a tasting | No |
| Travel | Carry-on luggage, packing cubes, a travel adapter | A weekend away you plan | Maybe: M08, for translation and photos |
| Music | Headphones, a speaker, records | Concert tickets | Only for music on the move |
| Tech and gadgets | A charger, a tracker tag, a smart-home device | A workshop or maker class | Yes, if he wears sunglasses |
| Office and career | A bag, a pen, a desk upgrade | A course or a conference ticket | Yes: M08C ($119 at checkout) |

2. He’s outdoors: hiking, fishing, the long drive
For an outdoor man, give a better version of what he carries every trip. Look at his kit and you will usually find something tired: a jacket that no longer keeps the wind out, a pack with a broken buckle, a headlamp running on its last batteries.
- Upgrades. A wind or rain shell, merino base layers, wool hiking socks, a headlamp, a good insulated bottle.
- Experiences.A day with a fishing guide on water he hasn’t fished, a guided hike somewhere new, or a park pass that turns next year’s weekends into plans.
- Camera sunglasses. This is where our frames fit most naturally. A photo of the view or the catch with both hands busy, and a podcast or directions in his ears while he still hears the trail. See section 9.
For more, see smart glasses for hiking.
3. He trains: the gym, the run, the race
For a man who trains, the useful gift is equipment or coaching for the sport he already does. Ask which sport, because gear for a lifter and gear for a runner barely overlap.
- Upgrades. Shoes fitted for his sport, a durable gym bag, a foam roller or massage gun, a lifting belt or gloves if he lifts.
- Experiences. A few sessions with a coach, an entry to a race he has mentioned, or a class in something adjacent such as climbing or boxing.
Glasses are not the gift for indoor lifting. If he rides outdoors, our cycling pick, the M14, is the one to look at.
4. He cooks: the kitchen and the grill
For a man who cooks, one serious tool beats a box of gadgets. Watch what he reaches for most and buy a better version of that.
- Upgrades.A chef’s knife and a whetstone, a heavy cast-iron or carbon-steel pan, an instant-read thermometer, a large end-grain board.
- Consumables.Spices or sauces from a small producer, good olive oil, coffee from a roaster he hasn’t tried.
- Experiences. A class in a cuisine he likes, a butchery or barbecue workshop, a tasting for two.
Nothing we make belongs in a kitchen, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
5. He travels: work trips and weekends away
For a frequent traveller, the gift is anything that makes packing and transit easier. Small, durable, and in his carry-on every trip.
- Upgrades. Carry-on luggage, packing cubes, a universal travel adapter, a compact power bank, a toiletry bag that survives being thrown around.
- Experiences. A weekend away you plan from start to finish, so the trip is the present.
- Camera sunglasses. The M08 translates 40+ languages through the HeyCyan phone app and takes photos without reaching for his phone. Only he hears the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on his phone, and it needs a connection.
Our smart glasses for travel guide goes deeper on the translation side.
6. He lives with headphones on
For a serious listener, sealed headphones or a good speaker are the right gift, not open-ear glasses.Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and don’t block out noise the way sealed headphones do.
- Upgrades. Over-ear headphones, a portable speaker, a turntable or records he has been hunting for.
- Experiences. Tickets to an artist he loves, ideally with you.
Where glasses do make sense is music on the move: a walk, a drive, a commute, when he wants to hear traffic and people around him as well as the song.
7. He likes gadgets
For a gadget man, pick a device that solves a small daily annoyance. The gadgets that last are the ones that remove a step he takes every day.
- Upgrades. A multi-device charging stand, tracker tags for keys and bags, a smart-home plug or light, a compact power bank.
- Experiences. A maker or electronics workshop, or a day at a tech museum.
- Camera smart glasses. If he already wears sunglasses, a pair that adds a camera, open-ear audio and an app-based assistant is a gadget he will wear rather than store.
For a gadget-only list, see our cool tech gifts for men guide.
8. He’s building a career
For a man focused on work, give something he uses every working day and would not buy for himself. Quality shows most in the things he carries into meetings.
- Upgrades. A leather or canvas work bag, a good pen and notebook, a desk lamp, a monitor stand or a better chair cushion.
- Experiences. A course in a skill he wants, or a ticket to a conference in his field.
- Glasses for the office. The M08C with gold or silver trim reads as an office frame, takes calls through open-ear speakers, and goes to the golf course at the weekend.
9. Where camera smart glasses fit, and which pair
Three OXIVUE frames match three of the interests above: the M08 at $99, the M08C at $119 and the M14 at $149, each price for one pair at checkout. All have an 8 MP camera that starts with a visible touch on the temple, open-ear speakers, microphones and Bluetooth 5.4.
| His interest | Pair | At checkout (listed) | Why this one | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Outdoors, driving, travel | M08 | $99 ($149) | Sun, photochromic or clear lens; ~42 g; 7 h listening, 4 h calls | No published water rating |
| Office, golf | M08C | $119 ($169) | Gold or silver trim; Sony IMX219 8 MP; same three lenses | No published water rating |
| Cycling | M14 | $149 ($199) | One-piece wrap shield; IPX4 for rain and splash; 139 languages | 52 g; lens can’t be swapped; 4 h listening, 7 h calls |
The M08 looks like an ordinary pair of sunglasses; choose the clear lens if he wants them for evenings, and he should never drive at night in a tinted lens. The M08C adds metal trim to the same shape. The M14 is a different frame, built for the bike, and it is a daytime pair because the shield is fixed. If you want a pair for yourself too, two or more pairs in one order are 50% off all eyewear: two M08s come to $149. Every model is side by side on the comparison page.
Whose present is it matters too: for a partner, our Christmas gifts for husband guide asks the questions only a spouse can answer. OXIVUE publishes this page and sells the frames in it.
10. Before you buy glasses: who they are not for, and delivery
Camera smart glasses are the wrong gift for a man who needs prescription glasses all day or doesn’t use a smartphone. Check these before you order:
- No prescription lenses, on any model. Frames sit over contact lenses the way ordinary sunglasses do.
- No display. Nothing appears in his view; he hears answers and music and captures photos and video.
- Phone required. Translation, music, calls, the assistant and getting photos off the glasses need his phone nearby and the free HeyCyan app.
- Consent. Captures start only with a visible touch on the temple. Recording people, especially audio, can require their consent depending on where he is, so the habit to give with the gift is to ask first.
- Refunds. No refunds except transit damage (replaced or refunded); faults are repaired or replaced under the 2-year warranty; change of mind and unmet expectations are not refundable. Full terms are on the return policy page.
Delivery.US delivery is usually 5–9 business days (international 9–14 after shipment); we can’t guarantee arrival before December 25, so order early. Shipping is free from $99. Outside the US, the recipient pays import VAT and duties on delivery; see the shipping policy. If you are shopping on a budget, our gifts for men under $100 guide sorts ideas by price, and for a man with full shelves try gifts for men who have everything.
Shipping, refunds and warranty. Free shipping from $99. US orders typically arrive in 5–9 business days; international orders take 9–14 business days. OXIVUE does not offer refunds except for an order damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded. Faults after delivery are covered by the 2-year warranty through repair or replacement. None of our frames take prescription lenses. Compare every model on the comparison page.
Frequently asked questions
What do men like most as a gift?
Something that improves a thing he already does. A gift tied to an existing hobby gets used; a gift that asks him to start a new one often ends up in a drawer. Look at where his weekends and spare money already go, whether that is the trail, the gym, the kitchen or the car, and give him a better version of one item, a service for gear he owns, or an experience inside that interest.
What is the 5 gift rule for men?
It is a way to cap and balance presents: something he wants, something he needs, something to wear, something to read and something to do. It works well with the interest approach on this page. Pick his main interest, then fill the five boxes from it: a tool he wants, a consumable he needs, a piece of kit to wear, a book on the subject and a lesson, trip or class to do.
What would a 25 year old man want for Christmas?
Usually something that fits how he lives now rather than an heirloom. At that age he may be setting up a first place, travelling on a budget or training for something, so practical upgrades land well: a solid piece of kitchen kit, good luggage, gym gear or a ticket to an event with friends. If he is outdoors a lot and doesn't wear prescription glasses, camera sunglasses such as the OXIVUE M08 ($99 at checkout) are one option.
What are good small, inexpensive gifts for guys?
Consumables and small upgrades inside his interest. Coffee from a roaster he hasn't tried, a spice set, good socks for hiking, a book on his hobby, a phone mount for his bike or a decent water bottle all work as stocking stuffers or secret-santa gifts. The rule is the same as for bigger presents: tie it to something he already does. Our gifts for men under $100 guide has more by budget.
What do you get a man who has everything?
An experience or a service rather than another object. A man with full shelves already has the gear; what he may lack is time: a lesson with a professional, a guided day on new water or trail, a tasting, a class, or a booking you plan for him. If you do want an object, choose one that replaces two things he already carries, which is the case for camera sunglasses with open-ear audio.
Are smart glasses a good Christmas gift for men?
Yes, if he doesn't need prescription glasses and already wears sunglasses outdoors. OXIVUE frames combine sunglasses, open-ear speakers and an 8 MP camera that starts with a touch on the temple: M08 $99, M08C $119 and M14 $149 at checkout. They are the wrong gift if he needs his prescription glasses all day, doesn't use a smartphone, or expects a display. There are no refunds for change of mind.
Will it arrive before Christmas?
We can't promise it. US delivery is usually 5–9 business days (international 9–14 after shipment); we can't guarantee arrival before December 25, so order early. Shipping is free from $99, so every single pair qualifies. Outside the US, import VAT and duties are paid by the recipient on delivery, which matters if the parcel is a surprise.
What these frames won’t do
- No prescription lenses yet, on any model. If you need vision correction all day, these can't replace your glasses.
- No display. Nothing appears in your view; you hear answers and capture photos and video.
- Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and won't block out a loud train or a windy road the way sealed earbuds do.
- Translation, music, calls and the assistant need your phone nearby and connected. Translation pauses after each sentence, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone.
- M08: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
- M08C: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
- M14: one-piece shield, so the lens can't be swapped for clear or photochromic.
- M14: IPX4 covers splash, spray and rain only, and at 52 g it is heavier than the 41–42 g frames.
Check these before you order: see the warranty and refund policy.
