Gifts for men who have everything: sunglasses that do three jobs

The man who has everything already bought the good headphones, the good speaker and the good sunglasses. The lists that rank for gifts for men who have everything answer with more objects. This guide makes one narrower suggestion, camera sunglasses that take calls, play music and capture photos hands-free, and is plain about who should get something else.

Disclosure: OXIVUE publishes this guide and sells the three frames picked above. The non-OXIVUE ideas in section 6 are categories, not products we sell.

1. Why the man who has everything is hard to buy for

He is hard to buy for because every obvious gift is a version of something he already chose. The pages that rank for this search on October 19, 2026 (homewetbar.com, a Quora thread, Pinterest boards, swankybadger.com and jaxxon.com) answer with lists of 5 to 137 items. That is useful for browsing, but long lists tend to land on the same problem: a nicer wallet, a whiskey set, another speaker. He compares each one with the one in his drawer, and his usually wins.

Whether it is a dad who has everything, a husband who has everything or a brother who buys his own gadgets the day they launch, there are two honest ways around that. One is to buy an experience instead of an object. The other is to pick a category he does not own at all, so the gift is never measured against something he already has. This guide takes the second route with one category, and section 6 covers the first.

2. The category he may not own: camera sunglasses

Camera sunglasses combine three things in one frame: sunglasses, open-ear headphones with microphones for calls, and an 8 MP camera started by a touch on the temple. They are a young category. A man can own excellent earbuds and a good pair of sunglasses and still not have the two in one frame, but some men already do, so ask a partner or check his photos before you buy. If he already wears a pair, skip this section and go to section 6.

What a pair like the OXIVUE M02C does day to day:

  • Calls and music, ears open. Directional speakers sit above the ear and leave the ear canal open, so he hears traffic, the dog and the person next to him. Battery on the M02C and M08C is rated at 7 hours of listening or 4 hours of calls, which covers a drive, a hike or an afternoon on the water.
  • Hands-free photos and clips. A touch on the temple captures an 8 MP photo or a short clip of what he is looking at: the grandchild on the swing, the view from the trail, the fish before it goes back. His hands stay on the wheel, the rod or the lead. Nothing records unless he starts it, and files go to the HeyCyan app on his phone.
  • A few extras through the app.Translation in 40+ languages on the M08 family (139 on the M14): he hears the translation in the speakers and the other person reads the reply on his phone, with a pause after each sentence. The M02C also has “Hey Cyan” visual AI, which describes what he is looking at.

They also look like sunglasses. The M02C and M08C weigh about 41 to 42 g, and no subscription is involved. They work with the HeyCyan app and do not need a Meta, Facebook or Instagram account.

3. What they do not do

There is no display and no prescription option on any OXIVUE frame, and those two limits decide whether this is the right gift. Read them before anything else in this guide:

  • No screen in the lens. No notifications, maps or text appear in front of his eyes. Everything is audio, or something he looks at later on his phone.
  • No prescription lenses. If he wears prescription glasses all day, these will sit in a drawer. The M14’s one-piece shield cannot be swapped at all.
  • Phone required for the clever parts. Translation, the visual assistant and viewing photos all run through the HeyCyan app on his phone.
  • Not for swimming. The M02C is rated IP65 (dust and water jets, not immersion) and the M14 IPX4 (splash and rain); the M08C has no published water rating.
  • Not a rangefinder, fitness tracker or action camera on a mount. The camera sees what he sees, from his eyeline, and nothing more.

If any of those rules him out, that is the answer, and section 6 has better ideas.

4. Against Meta’s prices

OXIVUE camera sunglasses are $99 to $149 at checkout for one pair; Meta lists its glasses from $224 to $799 on meta.com (checked October 19, 2026). Meta’s Ray-Ban and Oakley pairs are the usual reference point. The table quotes prices only, as Meta’s shop page displayed them that day; it does not rate Meta’s features.

The price gap is the gift argument: a pair at $109 to $149 is a different decision from one at $379 or $449, especially if you are not sure he will wear it every day. Meta’s prices change, so check meta.com on the day you buy.

5. Which frame for which man

Pick by what he does outdoors, not by spec sheet: the M02C for everyday, driving, hiking and fishing, the M08C for golf and the office, the M14 for cycling and skiing.

  • M02C, $109 at checkout (listed $159). The everyday pick and the one to choose if you are unsure. About 41 g, Sony IMX219 8 MP camera with dual stabilisation, IP65 (dust and water jets, not immersion), magnetic charging, and “Hey Cyan” visual AI that describes what he is looking at. Lens options are sunglasses, photochromic or clear; photochromic darkens in bright light and lightens in shade, which suits a man who forgets to swap pairs.
  • M08C, $119 at checkout (listed $169). The dressier one: gold or silver metal trim on an Italian TR90 frame, about 42 g, 8 MP Sony IMX219 camera, the same three lens choices. It reads as eyewear in an office or a clubhouse. No published water rating, so it is a dry-weather frame. For a golfer specifically, our gifts for golfers who have everything guide goes deeper.
  • M14, $149 at checkout (listed $199). A wrap shield for cycling and skiing, 52 g, IPX4 for splash and rain, Sony IMX219 8 MP, 139 translation languages. Its battery is rated the other way round from the M08 family: 4 hours of listening, 7 hours of calls. The one-piece shield comes in four colourways (Nero, Azzurro, Ghiaccio, Tramonto) and is not swappable.

Every frame has Bluetooth 5.4, open-ear speakers, microphones and a camera that starts only with a touch. If the person you are buying for is a gadget collector rather than an outdoors man, the broader lists in cool tech gifts for men and tech gifts for dad match all four OXIVUE frames to hobbies. Every spec side by side is on the compare page.

6. If glasses are the wrong gift for him

Camera sunglasses are wrong for a man who wears prescription glasses all day, already owns a pair, dislikes electronics on his face, or wants a screen. For him, these categories tend not to end up in a drawer. OXIVUE sells none of them and we quote no prices:

  • Time with you, booked. A day doing the thing he talks about: a guided fishing trip, a track day, a tee time on the course on his list, a cooking class.
  • Replace what he is wearing out. Not what he already owns, but the thing he keeps patching: the boots, the belt, the bag. Ask whoever sees him most.
  • Consumables he would never upgrade himself. Good coffee, a bottle from the year someone was born, a subscription to something he reads for free.
  • Something made, not bought. Printed photos of the year, a framed map of a trip, a letter. The man who has everything rarely has these.
  • A donation in his name to a cause he cares about, for the man who says he wants nothing and means it.

7. Christmas gifts for men who have everything: before you order

Christmas gifts for men who have everything are usually bought late, because nobody can think of one. US delivery is usually 5–9 business days (international 9–14 after shipment); we can’t guarantee arrival before December 25, so order early. The same window applies to a birthday. Shipping is free from $99, so a single pair qualifies.

  • Where we ship. 39 countries: the contiguous United States, Canada, the UK, all 27 EU states, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Colombia and Mexico. Prices exclude import VAT and duties outside the US, which the recipient pays on delivery. Detail is on the shipping policy page.
  • Two men on the list, or one for him and one for you. Two or more pairs in one order are 50% off all eyewear: two M08 frames come to $149 in total, and an M02C and an M08C together come to $164 at checkout.
  • Consent. If he will film people, the habit to pass on is to tell them. Our guide to smart glasses recording laws by state covers the detail; it is general information, not legal advice.
  • The terms, because a gift receipt is not a refund route. No refunds except transit damage (replaced or refunded); faults are repaired or replaced under the 2-year warranty; change of mind and unmet expectations are not refundable. Check section 3 before you order.

Shipping, refunds and warranty. Free shipping from $99. US orders typically arrive in 5–9 business days; international orders take 9–14 business days. OXIVUE does not offer refunds except for an order damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded. Faults after delivery are covered by the 2-year warranty through repair or replacement. None of our frames take prescription lenses. See the return policy and warranty for detail.

Frequently asked questions

What do you get a man who has everything?

Something from a category he does not own yet, or an experience rather than an object. If he already owns good versions of the obvious gadgets, a slightly better wallet or speaker gets compared with the one he chose himself. Camera sunglasses are one category worth checking: the OXIVUE M02C is $109 at checkout and takes calls, plays music and captures photos hands-free. Check first that he does not already wear a pair; if he does, buy an experience instead.

What is a unique gift for a dad who has everything?

A pair of sunglasses that also works as his headphones and his camera is a different kind of gift from another gadget for the drawer. Match it to what he does: the M02C ($109 at checkout, IP65) for driving, hiking and fishing; the M08C ($119, gold or silver trim) for golf and the office; the M14 ($149, wrap shield) for cycling and skiing. If he needs prescription lenses all day, choose something else, because no OXIVUE frame takes them.

Do OXIVUE glasses work with prescription lenses?

No. None of the OXIVUE frames take prescription lenses, and the M14 has a fixed one-piece shield that cannot be swapped at all. If the man you are buying for wears prescription glasses all day, these are the wrong gift unless he also wears contact lenses or switches to sunglasses outdoors. That is the first thing to check before you order, because the lens choice cannot be changed into a prescription later.

Do they have a screen in the lens?

No. There is no display of any kind: no text, maps or notifications appear in the lens. Everything is heard through the open-ear speakers or seen afterwards in the HeyCyan app on his phone, where photos and clips are saved and translation runs. If he wants information in front of his eyes, Meta lists a Meta Ray-Ban Display starting at $799 on its site (checked October 19, 2026); OXIVUE does not make a display product.

How do they compare in price with Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

OXIVUE camera sunglasses are $99 to $149 at checkout for one pair. On meta.com (checked October 19, 2026), Gen 2 Ray-Ban Meta frames are listed from $379, Gen 3 from $449, Oakley Meta HSTN from $399, Meta Glasses Adventurer from $249, and Gen 1 Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer and Skyler from $224 against an original price of $299. The comparison is price only; this page does not rate Meta's features.

Will it arrive before Christmas?

US delivery is usually 5–9 business days (international 9–14 after shipment); we can't guarantee arrival before December 25, so order early. Shipping is free from $99, so a single pair qualifies. Outside the US, prices exclude import VAT and duties, which the recipient pays on delivery, so a gift sent abroad can arrive with a charge attached.

What if he does not like them?

Change of mind is not refundable, so be sure before you order. OXIVUE does not offer refunds except for an order damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded, and faults after delivery are repaired or replaced under the 2-year warranty. That is why this guide lists what the glasses do not do (no display, no prescription lenses) and suggests checking whether he already owns a pair.

Is it legal to record people with camera glasses?

It depends on where he is and who he records: consent rules differ by place, especially for audio. Capture on every OXIVUE frame starts only with a visible touch on the temple, so nothing records unless he starts it. The decent habit is to tell people when he is filming them and to follow venue rules on photography. Laws on recording conversations vary by US state and by country; this is general information, not legal advice.

What these frames won’t do

  • No prescription lenses yet, on any model. If you need vision correction all day, these can't replace your glasses.
  • No display. Nothing appears in your view; you hear answers and capture photos and video.
  • Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and won't block out a loud train or a windy road the way sealed earbuds do.
  • Translation, music, calls and the assistant need your phone nearby and connected. Translation pauses after each sentence, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone.
  • M02C: IP65 resists dust and water jets, not immersion. No swimming, no saltwater.
  • M08C: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
  • M14: one-piece shield, so the lens can't be swapped for clear or photochromic.
  • M14: IPX4 covers splash, spray and rain only, and at 52 g it is heavier than the 41–42 g frames.

Check these before you order: see the warranty and refund policy.
