Men’s Ray-Ban Meta glasses and smart glasses for men: buy the size, not the label.

Search for men's Ray-Ban Meta glasses and you will find the same frames sold to everyone. What changes from one person to the next is the size: lens width, bridge, temple length and weight. This guide puts Meta's published measurements for each style side by side, explains what they mean on your face, and shows where OXIVUE's frames fit and where they do not.

Which Meta Ray-Bans are for men?

Strictly, none of them. Meta’s store lists Ray-Ban Meta glasses by style and fit, not by gender, and the same is true of its Oakley Meta and Meta Glasses lines. When people search for ray ban meta glasses for men, they usually mean one of two things: a frame that is wide enough for their face, or a shape they think of as classic. Both are better answered with measurements than with a label, because faces vary far more within any group than between groups.

In practice, the styles men most often ask about are the Wayfarer, the round Headliner and the pilot-shaped Aviator from Ray-Ban Meta; the HSTN and the wrap-around Vanguard from Oakley Meta; and Meta’s own Fury and Adventurer. Each has a published size on meta.com, and the useful thing is to compare those numbers with a pair you already wear. We have not tested Meta’s glasses ourselves; every figure for them below is from Meta’s own product pages, checked September 30, 2026. If you are shopping for someone else, our companion guide to smart glasses for women uses the same fit-first approach for cat-eye and oval styles.

How smart glasses for men should fit: width, bridge and temple length

Look on the inside of the arm of glasses you find comfortable. You will see three numbers, for example 52□18-145. Here is how to read them, and how to use them when you compare:

  1. Lens width (52 mm): the width of one lens. Two or three millimetres either way is noticeable; a larger number means a wider frame front.
  2. Bridge (18 mm): the gap between the lenses, where the frame sits on your nose. Too narrow and it pinches or rides high; too wide and it slides down.
  3. Temple length (145 mm): the arm from hinge to tip. On smart glasses this matters more than usual, because the speakers sit in the arms. Arms that are too short pull the frame forward; arms that are too long move the speakers off your ears.
  4. Overall width: Meta also lists “hinge to hinge”, the width of the frame front. If your temples feel squeezed by your current glasses, this is the figure to compare.
  5. Weight: a camera, battery and speakers add grams. Compare in grams, not in adjectives.

Every OXIVUE frame in the M08 family measures 52-18-145 with a 42 mm lens height, which our fit guidedescribes as sized for medium-to-large faces. One difference worth noticing: our bridge is 18 mm, while Meta’s Wayfarer lists 22 mm, so if your current glasses have a wide bridge, check that number first.

Ray-Ban Meta sizes and weights compared: Standard vs Large

The table below lists Meta’s published dimensions for each style (lens width, bridge, temple, in millimetres) and its device or frame weight, alongside OXIVUE’s. Prices are the “From” prices shown on meta.com on September 30, 2026; finishes such as Transitions® lenses cost more.

Two things stand out. First, if you need a wider frame from Ray-Ban Meta, the Wayfarer Large adds 3 mm of lens width and 6 mm of overall width over Standard, plus longer arms, for about 2 g more. Second, the spread in weight is real: from about 41 g on the OXIVUE M02C to 66 g on the Vanguard. Every OXIVUE spec sits side by side on the comparison page.

Men’s smart glasses styles: Wayfarer, Headliner, Aviator and sport

Shape is personal, and none of these belongs to one gender. Here is what each common option looks like and who makes it:

  • Wayfarer. The flat-topped trapezoid most people picture when they hear Ray-Ban. Meta lists it in three generations; our Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer guide compares Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 in detail.
  • Round. Softer lines. Meta lists both the Ray-Ban Meta Headliner and the Oakley Meta HSTN as round, with 23 mm bridges.
  • Pilot. The Gen 3 Aviator is the only pilot shape in Meta’s range, with a 54 mm lens and an 18 mm bridge.
  • Square and rectangle.Meta Fury is described by Meta as “a modern square frame”; the Adventurer is a rectangle. Every OXIVUE M08-family frame is a rectangle: the M08 plain, the M02C slightly rounded, and the M08C with a gold or silver metal trim.
  • Sport wrap. A single shield lens that wraps the face. The Oakley Meta Vanguard (IP67, no prescription option) and the OXIVUE M14 (IPX4, four colourways) are both here. Our Oakley Meta glasses guide covers the HSTN and Vanguard in full.

For more on matching shape and material to your face, see stylish smart glasses. Our fit guide suggests the M08C or M14 for a round face and the M08 or M02C for a square one, but it is a starting point, not a rule.

Lenses for men’s Ray-Ban Meta glasses: clear, sun, Transitions and prescription

The lens decides where you can wear the frame. Meta offers clear, sun and Transitions® lenses across most of its range, and prescription lenses on most styles: Meta lists the Wayfarer Gen 2 and Gen 3, Headliner and Oakley Meta HSTN as prescription-ready from -12.00 to +6.00 total power, the Gen 3 Aviator from -6.00 to +4.00, and Fury and Adventurer from -12.00 to +2.25. The Oakley Meta Vanguard has no prescription option. The full model-by-model detail is in our Meta glasses prescription guide.

On the OXIVUE M08, M02C and M08C you choose sunglasses, photochromic (darkens outdoors, clears indoors) or clear. The M14 has a fixed shield whose tint comes with the colourway: smoke on Nero, a blue mirror on Azzurro, an ice-blue mirror on Ghiaccio and a sunset-red mirror on Tramonto. No OXIVUE frame takes prescription lenses; many wearers use contact lenses with them, and our prescription smart glasses guide ranks the other workarounds.

What smart glasses for men are good for, day to day

The uses are the same for anyone; what differs is your day. These are the jobs the hardware genuinely does well:

  • Calls and music while you move. Open-ear speakers leave your ears free to hear traffic and people. The M08 lists 7 hours of listening and 4 hours of calls.
  • Photos without the phone.A child’s first steps, the view from a ride, a whiteboard after a meeting. Every OXIVUE frame has an 8 MP camera.
  • Travel and translation. Two-way translation through the free HeyCyan app: 40+ languages on the M08 family and 139 on the M14, heard only by the wearer. It needs your phone and a connection.
  • Sport. The M14’s 52 g wrap shield, IPX4 rating and 4 GB of onboard memory suit cycling, skiing and running; the M02C is IP65.
  • Asking about what you see.The M02C’s “Hey Cyan” visual assistant answers questions about what is in front of you.

With any camera on your face, be open about recording and check the rules where you are; Meta says its Ray-Ban Meta glasses show an LED light while recording. OXIVUE lenses have no display.

Mens smart glasses under $200: where OXIVUE fits

Meta’s camera glasses start at $249 for the Adventurer and $379 for a Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2. If you want the core of the idea (a camera, open-ear audio, calls and translation in a frame you would wear anyway) for less, these are our three frames for that brief:

  1. M08, $149. A plain rectangle at about 42 g with an 8 MP camera and sunglasses, photochromic or clear lenses. The lowest price in our range.
  2. M14, $199. A 52 g wrap-around sport shield with an 8 MP Sony IMX219 camera, stabilised 1080p video at 30 fps, IPX4 and 139 languages.
  3. M02C, $159.The lightest camera frame we make, about 41 g, IP65, with dual stabilization and the “Hey Cyan” visual assistant.

All run on the free HeyCyan app, which needs a free sign-up but no Meta or social-media account and no subscription. One pair is currently $50 off at checkout, applied automatically. What you give up against Meta: Meta AI, the 12 MP camera and 3K video, Large and High-bridge fits, and prescription lenses.

Which smart glasses for men to choose, by need

  • Wide face, want Ray-Ban Meta: the Wayfarer in Large fit, Gen 2 from $379 or Gen 3 from $449.
  • Prescription in the frame: a Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer or Headliner, or the Oakley Meta HSTN. Not the Vanguard, and not OXIVUE.
  • Pilot shape: the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 Aviator, from $449.
  • Lightest everyday camera frame: the OXIVUE M02C, about 41 g, $159.
  • Under $150: the OXIVUE M08 at $149.
  • Sport, under $200: the OXIVUE M14 at $199.

OXIVUE does not offer change-of-mind or fit refunds (only damage in transit), so check your measurements against 52-18-145 first. If you are unsure, email us the numbers from your current frames, as the fit guide describes, and we will tell you honestly whether ours will suit.

Bottom line

Men’s Ray-Ban Meta glasses come down to the same checks as anyone’s: lens width, bridge, temple length and weight. If you want Ray-Ban Meta and have a broad face, start with the Wayfarer Large; if you need your prescription, stay within Meta’s prescription-ready styles. If a rectangular camera frame in 52-18-145 suits you and you want to spend less, start with the OXIVUE M08 at $149, or the M14 at $199 for sport. US orders arrive in 5–9 business days, with free shipping from $99 and a 2-year frame warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Which Meta Ray-Bans are for men?

None is sold as a men's model: Meta lists its Ray-Ban Meta styles as frames with fits, not genders. The ones most often bought for broader faces are the Wayfarer in its Large fit (53 mm lens, 155 mm temples on Gen 2), the round Headliner and the Gen 3 Aviator. Pick by the numbers on the inside of your current glasses rather than by the label.

Do Ray-Ban Meta glasses come in a large size?

Some do. On meta.com, checked September 30, 2026, the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2 and Gen 3 both list a Large fit with a 53 mm lens and 22 mm bridge, and the Meta Adventurer lists Standard and Large. The Headliner comes in Low bridge and High bridge fits instead. Meta Fury lists a Standard size only.

What can Ray-Ban Meta glasses do?

Per Meta's product pages, they take photos and video with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera (up to 3K video on Gen 2 and Gen 3), play music and calls through open-ear speakers, and answer questions through Meta AI using the Meta AI app on your phone. They have no display in the lens; that is the separate Meta Ray-Ban Display.

How heavy are Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

Meta lists the Wayfarer Gen 2 at 51 g in Standard and 53 g in Large, and Gen 3 at 51.5 g and 53.8 g. The Gen 3 Aviator is 54.5 g, the Oakley Meta HSTN 53 g, Meta Fury 59.9 g and the Oakley Meta Vanguard 66 g. For comparison, the OXIVUE M08 is about 42 g and the M14 sport shield 52 g.

Are Ray-Ban Meta glasses being banned?

They are on general sale on meta.com as of September 30, 2026. What varies is where you can record: gyms, hospitals, schools and some workplaces set their own rules on cameras, and recording laws differ by state and country. Meta says its glasses show an LED light while recording. Whatever you wear, follow the venue's rules and say when you are filming.

Are there cheaper smart glasses for men than Ray-Ban Meta?

Yes. The OXIVUE M08 costs $149 with an 8 MP camera, open-ear audio and translation in 40+ languages through the free HeyCyan app, which needs a free sign-up but no Meta or social-media account and no subscription. The M14 sport shield costs $199. Neither has a display or takes prescription lenses.

Can I get men's Ray-Ban Meta glasses with prescription lenses?

Yes. Meta lists the Wayfarer, Headliner and Oakley Meta HSTN as prescription-ready from -12.00 to +6.00 total power, and the Gen 3 Aviator from -6.00 to +4.00. The Oakley Meta Vanguard has no prescription option. OXIVUE frames do not take prescription lenses.
