What Looktech sells, from its own pages

Looktech AI Glasses belong to the same structural camp as ours: no display, a camera at eye level, open-ear speakers, and an assistant you talk to and hear back. Looktech’s FAQ says so directly: there is no heads-up display and no subtitles, and all information comes back as audio.

The hardware on its spec sheet is strong for the category. A 34 g round frame with titanium-alloy hinges. A 13 MP camera capturing 4208 × 3120 stills and 2104 × 1560 video at 30 fps. Two speakers and two microphones, a 160 mAh battery that Looktech rates at up to 14 hours of moderate use, 32 GB of storage, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6, and a charging case rather than a cable. The assistant is called Memo; Looktech says it remembers your routines and past conversations and wakes on “Hey Memo”. Most of the site describes it as GPT-5; the store’s own product listing says it is powered by Gemini. The product page says the glasses were crowdfunded and cites more than 4,800 supporters and over $1M raised.

The price on the store is $299 in Black, Gradient Dark or Dark Transparent and $319 in Havana, before prescription or treated lenses. The FAQ still quotes a starting price of $249, so the two pages disagree.

What a pre-order buys, and what an in-stock frame buys

Nobody searching “Looktech AI glasses” is short of spec sheets. What the search is usually really asking is whether to commit money now to a frame that is still sold on a pre-order basis. Here is what Looktech’s pages commit to, as we read them on September 25, 2026:

• A ship date that has already passed. The navigation says Pre-order. The FAQ gives November 2025 as the estimated ship date for pre-orders; the shipping policy says October 2025. Neither has been updated, and no current date is published.
• Full payment up front. The FAQ says pre-orders require full payment. It also says a pre-order can be cancelled for a refund before shipping begins; the refund policy adds that orders cannot be cancelled after 24 hours. Those two lines point in different directions, so get the cancellation terms in writing.
• A delivery area. The shipping policy says Looktech ships exclusively within the contiguous United States, by USPS, with no shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, military addresses or PO boxes, and quotes 1–3 business days to process plus 7–15 business days in transit.
• An app with tiers. Core features are free with daily limits on voice chat, GPT-5 access and transcription; a paid membership raises them. That is a reasonable model, and it means the software side depends on Looktech keeping those services running.

An in-stock frame buys a different set of certainties. Every OXIVUE on sale below is in stock today. In the US, the M08 and M08C in sunglasses or clear lenses and the M02C in sunglasses ship from our U.S. warehouse and arrive in 5–9 business days; photochromic lenses, the M02C in clear and the M14 take 9–14 business days after shipment, as does every international order. We deliver to 41 countries. Shipping is free on orders of $99 or more and a flat $9.99 below that, except Switzerland and Oman, which carry their own rates. None of the translation or capture features sit behind a subscription.

The trade runs the other way on refunds, and we would rather say it plainly. OXIVUE does not offer refunds. The one exception is an order that arrives damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded. Faults after delivery are handled under the 2-year warranty by repair or replacement, not refund. Change of mind, fit, and features not matching your expectations are not refundable. Statutory rights where you live still apply. Looktech’s refund policy offers a return for a refund within 15 days of receipt. If a trial period matters more to you than a ship date, that counts in its favour.

Looktech’s column quotes its own pages as we read them on September 25, 2026. Where its pages disagree with each other, we say so rather than pick the better number.

Where Looktech is the better buy

On paper, several rows go to Looktech, and an alternatives page that hides them is not worth reading.

• Prescription. Factory-fitted single-vision and progressive lenses, plus the option to have a local optician fit them later. No OXIVUE frame takes a prescription; our prescription guide explains what that means in practice.
• Resolution and battery on the spec sheet.13 MP against our 8 MP, and a rated 14 hours against our 7 hours of listening. These are Looktech’s figures; we have not tested them.
• Weight. 34 g is lighter than any frame we sell.
• A trial period. Fifteen days to return for a refund, which OXIVUE does not offer.

Our side of the ledger is narrower but concrete: a frame in stock at half the price, two-way translation in 40+ or 139 languages where Looktech’s FAQ lists English only, a published IP rating on two frames, delivery beyond the lower 48, no membership tier, and a warranty twice as long as Looktech’s outside the EEA.

Who should buy which

Wait for Looktech if

• You need prescription lenses built into the frame.
• Resolution and rated battery life matter more to you than a ship date.
• You live in the contiguous US and can get a firm dispatch date from Looktech in writing.

Buy an in-stock OXIVUE if

• You want the glasses this month, at a price you can see at checkout.
• You need two-way conversation translation in a language other than English.
• You live outside the contiguous US: Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia or Japan.
• You would rather not have a membership tier sitting between you and the assistant.

Bottom line

Looktech’s spec sheet is strong on resolution, weight and rated battery, and if you need a prescription it is ahead of us. But its own pages still sell it as a pre-order with a 2025 ship estimate, list English as its only language and limit delivery to the contiguous United States. If you want a frame that ships now, start with the M08 at $149, move to the M02C at $159 for voice-woken visual AI and IP65, or the M14 at $199 for 139 languages.
