Lightweight smart glasses, by the makers’ own numbers
Shopping for lightweight smart glasses comes down to grams, and to what a frame leaves out to shed them. This guide puts the published weights in one table, each read from the maker's own page, and is plain about where our frames land: light, but not the lightest in the table.

1. Published weights, side by side
Every figure below comes from the maker’s own product page, read on October 7, 2026. We have not weighed any competitor frame ourselves, and makers measure in different ways, which the notes column records. Prices are what each maker’s site showed that day; for OXIVUE we show the single-pair checkout price with the listed price beside it.
| Frame | Published weight | Type | Camera | Price shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RayNeo iO | 33 g | Display (monochrome microLED) | None (“Minus the camera”) | $449 on its site |
| Even G2 | 36 g | Display | None (“Camera-free. By design.”) | From $599 on its site |
| Rokid AI Glasses Style | 38.5 g (without prescription lenses) | Camera and audio, no display | 12 MP | $299 on its site |
| solos AirGo 3 (Argon 7) | ~39 g | Audio, IP67 | None (spec list: photo “No”, video “No”) | $249 on its site |

2. How to read the table
Three things matter more than the order of the rows.
- The lightest rows have no camera.RayNeo iO and Even G2 say so on their own pages, and both are display glasses: text appears in the lens. solos AirGo 3 is an audio frame whose spec list answers “No” to photo shooting and video recording. If you want a camera, those three are not the comparison for you.
- Some camera frames are lighter than ours. Rokid lists its AI Glasses Style at 38.5 g with a 12 MP camera, which is lighter on paper than the M02C at about 41 g and the M08 at about 42 g. We would rather say that here than leave it for you to find.
- Measurement bases differ.Rokid quotes its weight without prescription lenses. Meta quotes “Frame (g)” and gives separate figures for Standard and Large fits. solos writes “~39g”. A gram or two between rows can come down to what was on the scale, so treat small gaps as close to even.
The table is not a list of everything on sale. It covers frames whose makers publish a weight we could read on their own page. Search results and AI summaries mention other models; check the maker’s page before you rely on any figure you see quoted secondhand, including ours.
3. What the grams pay for
A frame’s weight is what is built into it. Reading the same pages side by side, the differences line up with features each maker publishes:
- Camera.Every frame under 38 g in the table states it has no camera. The camera frames start at Rokid’s 38.5 g and run to Meta’s 51 to 53 g and our 52 g M14. If you will never take a photo from your glasses, a camera-free frame is a fair way to cut weight, and it also removes the question of recording around other people.
- Display. RayNeo iO, Even G2 and Halliday G2 put text in your view. No OXIVUE frame has a display: you hear answers and capture photos and video, and files go to the phone app.
- Battery. Makers rate battery in different ways, so compare the type of use, not just the number. Rokid says up to 12 hours of typical use; Even says up to two days; Halliday says 12 hours of regular use; solos rates 10 hours of music or 7 hours of calls; Meta says up to 8 hours on the Wayfarer Gen 2. The OXIVUE M02C, M08 and M08C are rated 7 hours of listening and 4 hours of calls; the M14 is the other way round, 4 hours of listening and 7 hours of calls.
- Water rating. solos lists IP67. The M02C is IP65 (dust-tight and protected against water jets, not immersion) and the M14 is IPX4 (splash and rain). The M08 and M08C have no published water rating.
- Audio. All OXIVUE frames use open-ear speakers. They leave your ears free, but they leak some sound at high volume and will not block out a loud train or a windy road the way sealed earbuds do.
4. Where OXIVUE frames land
M02C, about 41 g ($109 at checkout). The M02Cis our lightest camera frame. It carries a Sony IMX219 8 MP sensor with dual stabilisation, open-ear speakers and microphones, IP65, and magnetic pogo charging, on a TR90 frame. It is also the only OXIVUE frame with “Hey Cyan” visual AI, which can describe what you are looking at. Lenses come in sun, photochromic or clear, so it can be worn indoors on the clear lens.
M08, about 42 g ($99 at checkout). The M08 is a gram heavier on paper, with an 8 MP camera, the same three lens choices and 7 hours of listening. It has no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
M08C, about 42 g ($119 at checkout). The M08C adds gold or silver trim to the same weight class and uses an 8 MP Sony IMX219 sensor. It is the frame we position for office days and golf.
M14, 52 g ($149 at checkout). The M14 is a one-piece wrap shield for cycling and skiing, rated IPX4, with 139-language translation. It is not a lightweight frame, and its shield cannot be swapped for a clear or photochromic lens. If low weight is the reason you are reading this page, look at the M02C or M08 first.
All four translate through the HeyCyan phone app (40+ languages on the M08 family, 139 on the M14). Translation needs your phone nearby and connected, pauses after each sentence, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone. A photo or clip starts only with a touch on the temple. If you record people, tell them, and check local law on recording, especially audio.
5. Weight and fit
A low number on a spec sheet does not settle comfort on its own; how the frame sits on your face matters too. A few checks, all based on what makers publish:
- Compare like with like.If you need prescription lenses, remember that Rokid’s 38.5 g excludes them and that RayNeo charges an additional $159 for custom prescription lenses. No OXIVUE frame takes prescription lenses at all.
- Check the size options. Meta publishes Standard and Large fits for the Wayfarer Gen 2 (150 mm and 155 mm temples) with a weight for each. Pick the fit that matches the glasses you already wear, then compare the weight for that fit.
- Mind the shape. A wrap shield like the M14 is a different shape from a two-lens frame and weighs more; the M02C, M08 and M08C are conventional two-lens TR90 frames.
- Ask before you order. OXIVUE does not refund change of mind or fit. If you are unsure how a frame will sit, email us through support with the size of the glasses you wear now and we will help you pick.

6. Which to choose
- Want the lowest weight in this table and no camera? The display frames (RayNeo iO, Even G2) or the solos audio frame are the ones to look at. We do not sell any of them.
- Want a camera in a frame around 40 g? Rokid AI Glasses Style (38.5 g, $299 on its site) and the OXIVUE M02C (about 41 g, $109 at checkout with IP65) are the closest in weight. The M08 (about 42 g, $99 at checkout) keeps the camera and the three lens choices for $10 less than the M02C at checkout.
- Need a display or prescription lenses? OXIVUE has neither. Choose a frame that lists them.
- Riding or skiing? The 52 g M14 is the frame for that, accepting the extra weight for the wrap shield.

Frequently asked questions
What are the lightest smart glasses?
We can only answer for frames whose weights we read on the makers' own pages on October 7, 2026. Among those, the lightest in our table are display glasses with no camera: RayNeo iO at 33 g and Even G2 at 36 g. The lightest camera frame in the table is Rokid's AI Glasses Style at 38.5 g, measured without prescription lenses. New frames appear often, so check the maker's page for any model not listed here.
Which brand of glasses is the lightest?
No single brand wins on every type. In our table, RayNeo has the lightest display frame, Rokid the lightest camera frame and solos lists its AirGo 3 Argon 7 audio frame at about 39 g. OXIVUE's lightest camera frame is the M02C at about 41 g, which is a little heavier than the Rokid and solos figures and about 10 g lighter than a Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2 frame, which Meta lists at 51 g in Standard fit.
What is the difference between AI glasses and smart glasses?
The terms overlap and makers use both. In practice, smart glasses is the broad category: frames with speakers, microphones, a camera, a display, or some mix. AI glasses usually means frames that connect to an assistant you talk to. The more useful split for weight is what is inside: display glasses like RayNeo iO, audio-only frames like solos AirGo 3, and camera frames like Rokid AI Glasses Style, Ray-Ban Meta and OXIVUE.
What are the thinnest smart glasses with AI?
The pages we checked publish weight, not a thickness figure that can be compared, so we do not rank thinness. Even says its G2 lens system is 30% thinner than its previous generation. If a slim look matters most, compare the temples in the maker's photos and check the frame dimensions. OXIVUE's M08, M02C and M08C are two-lens TR90 frames at about 41 to 42 g; the M14 is a 52 g wrap shield and is not built to look slim.
What are the smallest Meta glasses available?
We checked one Meta frame for this page. Meta lists the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2 in two fits: Standard at 51 g with a 150 mm temple, and Large at 53 g with a 155 mm temple, at $379 on meta.com. Meta sells other styles in other sizes, so compare their spec panels directly. For reference, the OXIVUE M02C is about 41 g and the M08 about 42 g.
Do lightweight smart glasses take prescription lenses?
Some do, and it changes the weight you compare. Rokid quotes 38.5 g without prescription lenses, RayNeo offers custom prescription lenses for an additional $159, and Meta lists the Wayfarer Gen 2 as prescription-ready. No OXIVUE frame takes prescription lenses, so if you need vision correction all day, ours cannot replace your glasses.
Is 41 or 42 grams heavy for glasses?
It sits in the middle of our table: heavier than the 33 to 39 g display and audio frames, and lighter than the 49 to 53 g frames from Halliday, Meta and our own M14. What you get for those grams on the M02C is an 8 MP camera, open-ear speakers, IP65 and magnetic charging. Whether it feels heavy depends on fit, so check the frame size before you order; fit is not refundable.
What these frames won’t do
- No prescription lenses yet, on any model. If you need vision correction all day, these can't replace your glasses.
- No display. Nothing appears in your view; you hear answers and capture photos and video.
- Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and won't block out a loud train or a windy road the way sealed earbuds do.
- Translation, music, calls and the assistant need your phone nearby and connected. Translation pauses after each sentence, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone.
- M02C: IP65 resists dust and water jets, not immersion. No swimming, no saltwater.
- M08: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
Check these before you order: see the warranty and refund policy.
