INMO Air 3 alternatives: do you need the display?
The INMO Air 3 is a full-colour AR display glass, and a good one on paper. This guide gives its price and specifications from INMO's own pages, checked on October 4, 2026. Then it asks the question that decides the purchase: do you need a screen in your glasses, or do you want everyday glasses with a camera, translation and audio?

What the INMO Air 3 is
The INMO Air 3 is a standalone augmented-reality glass. It puts an image in front of both eyes and runs its own operating system, so it works as a small computer on your face. INMO’s own comparison article gives these figures, which we checked on October 4, 2026:
- Display:binocular full-colour Micro-OLED, 1920×1080, 36° field of view, 62 PPD, 600 nits, shown through a 1D waveguide lens.
- Computing: Qualcomm Snapdragon 4nm octa-core chip, Android 14, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage. INMO says it can install most Android apps through Google Play.
- Camera:16MP, 120° ultrawide, with electronic stabilisation, placed in the centre of the frame between the eyes.
- Battery and weight: 660 mAh, about 135 g.
- Control: INMO describes it as all-in-one and wireless, with a ring and a touchpad. It has Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 5.3.
- Lenses: INMO says the lens stack was co-developed with Essilor and integrates a protective layer, the waveguide and a myopia lens.
INMO did not state battery hours, a water rating or a translation language count for the Air3 on the pages we checked, so we do not give those figures. If you want a second opinion, INMO’s Air3 documentation has the quick-start guide and manuals.
INMO Air 3 price and availability
INMO’s comparison article lists the Air3 from $899. When we checked on October 4, 2026, INMO’s US store at inmo.com listed two glasses, the GO3 and Magic AI Glasses J, plus accessories. The Air3 was not in the product list, and the Air3 product address returned a “Page not found” message. We are not saying it has been discontinued, because INMO has not said so. We are saying that if you want one, you should confirm the price and the seller first.
Inside INMO’s own range, the GO3 is the lower-priced display option. INMO lists it from $599, with a binocular monochrome greenwaveguide display at 640×480, a 30° field of view, about 58 g, and online translation in 98 languages. It shows text and simple graphics, not full-colour video.
Do you need a display, or everyday camera glasses?
This is the real decision. The Air 3 and an OXIVUE frame are different machines that happen to sit on your nose.
- You need a display if you want to watch video on a virtual screen, use Android apps in front of your eyes, read navigation or notes in the lens, or develop AR software. That is what the Air 3 is built for, and OXIVUE does not do any of it.
- You do not need a display if what you actually want is to take photos and video without pulling out your phone, take calls, listen to music with your ears open, and have conversations translated. Those jobs need a camera, microphones, speakers and an app, not a screen.
OXIVUE glasses have no display.Nothing appears in your view. You hear answers and translations through open-ear speakers, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone. Dropping the display is why OXIVUE frames weigh about 41–42 g and cost $149–$169, against INMO’s stated 135 g and $899 for the Air3. If you are weighing display glasses more widely, our smart glasses with a display guide covers the category.
INMO Air 3 vs OXIVUE, side by side
The INMO column uses only what INMO states. Where INMO does not publish a figure, the cell says so. OXIVUE figures come from our product specifications.

Read the table honestly. On display, camera resolution, computing power and prescription correction, the Air 3 is ahead, and it is a different kind of product. The OXIVUE case is price, weight, a normal glasses look and a published water rating on the M02C. INMO sources, checked 2026-10-04: INMO Air3 specifications, INMO US store, INMO GO3. All OXIVUE specifications are on the comparison page.
Which OXIVUE frame to choose instead
1. For one pair that does the most: OXIVUE M02C, $159
The M02C is our most complete frame. It has a Sony 219 sensor with dual stabilisation and 8 MP capture, weighs about 41 g and is rated IP65 against dust and water jets. You wake it with “Hey Cyan”, and its visual AI can tell you about what you are looking at, which is the nearest thing we make to the Air 3’s assistant, only spoken instead of shown. It translates 40+ languages through the app and charges with a magnetic connector. Lenses are sunglasses, photochromic or clear. It suits hiking, driving and fishing days. See the M02C.
2. For the lowest price, as sunglasses: OXIVUE M08, $149
The M08 is the lowest-priced OXIVUE camera frame. It is a ~42 g TR90 frame with an 8 MP camera, open-ear directional audio and a ~300 mAh battery rated for 7 hours of listening and 4 hours of calls. It translates 40+ languages through the app. We suggest the sunglasses lens for most buyers: it suits hiking, driving and fishing, and it is in stock now. See the M08.
3. For work and the golf course: OXIVUE M08C, $169
The M08C adds gold or silver metal trim to the same TR90 frame, 8 MP camera, battery and 40+ language translation as the M08. It comes in six variants, two metals by three lenses. It is the frame we suggest for meetings, calls and golf, where a quieter, more formal look matters. See the M08C.
What you give up by not buying the INMO Air 3
- The display. No virtual screen, no apps in your view, no text or navigation in the lens. This is the main point, and if you need it, no OXIVUE frame helps.
- Camera resolution.INMO states 16MP with a 120° ultrawide view. OXIVUE frames are 8 MP.
- Standalone computing. The Air 3 runs Android 14 on its own. OXIVUE frames rely on your phone being nearby and connected for translation, music, calls and the assistant.
- Vision correction. INMO says the Air3 lens integrates a myopia lens. OXIVUE has no prescription lens option on any model; our prescription guide explains what that means.
- Refunds. OXIVUE does not offer refunds, except for an order that arrives damaged in transit, which we replace or refund. A fault after delivery is covered by the 2-year warranty through repair or replacement. Full terms are on the return policy and warranty pages.
How to choose
- Do you need images in front of your eyes? If yes, look at display glasses: the Air 3 if you can confirm a seller, the INMO GO3 for a monochrome display, or the other options in our RayNeo and XREAL guides.
- Do you need prescription correction in the same pair? If yes, OXIVUE is not the right buy.
- Do you mostly want photos, calls, music and translation in normal-looking glasses under $200? Then choose the M02C for one all-round pair, the M08 sunglasses for the lowest price, or the M08C for work.
US orders usually arrive in 5–9 business days and international orders in 9–14 business days. Shipping is free on orders from $99. Details are on the shipping policy.
Bottom line
The INMO Air 3 is a full-colour 1080p display glass with Android apps, which INMO lists from $899 and states at about 135 g. If the display is the point, an OXIVUE frame is not a substitute. If you want a camera, translation and open-ear audio in glasses that look like glasses, the M02C at $159 is the all-rounder, the M08 at $149 is the lowest price, and the M08C at $169 is the frame for work.
Frequently asked questions
What is the INMO Air 3?
The INMO Air 3 (INMO writes it Air3) is a standalone AR glass with a display. INMO describes a binocular full-colour Micro-OLED display at 1920×1080 with a 36° field of view, shown through a waveguide lens, running Android 14 on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It has a 16MP ultrawide camera, a 660 mAh battery and weighs about 135 g, and you control it with a ring and a touchpad. These are INMO's figures, checked on October 4, 2026.
How much does the INMO Air 3 cost?
INMO's own comparison article lists the Air3 'From $899'. When we checked on October 4, 2026, INMO's US store at inmo.com listed the GO3 and Magic AI Glasses J but not the Air3, and the Air3 product address returned a 'Page not found' message. If you want an Air3, confirm the current price and seller before you buy.
Is the INMO Air 3 still worth buying?
It depends on whether you need what it is built for. If you want full-colour 1080p images in front of both eyes, Android apps and a camera in one standalone headset, the Air 3 is a display product and a camera glass does not replace it. If you mostly want photos, calls, music and translation in a pair that looks like normal glasses, a no-display frame does that job for far less money and weight.
Is there a cheaper alternative to the INMO Air 3?
Within INMO, the GO3 is listed from $599 with a monochrome green display. If you do not need a display at all, OXIVUE camera glasses start at $149: the M08 at $149, the M02C at $159 and the M08C at $169. Each has an 8 MP camera, open-ear audio and translation in 40+ languages through the app. None of them has a display, so you hear answers instead of reading them in the lens.
How much do smart glasses cost?
Prices follow the hardware. Glasses with a full-colour display sit at the top, because the display and waveguide are the most expensive parts; INMO lists the Air3 from $899. Monochrome display glasses come next, such as the INMO GO3 from $599. Camera-and-audio glasses with no display cost the least. OXIVUE's range is $149 to $199.
What are the disadvantages of smart glasses?
Display glasses are heavier (INMO states about 135 g for the Air3) and need frequent charging. Camera-and-audio glasses are lighter but show nothing in your view. Most smart glasses need a phone for some features. OXIVUE frames have no prescription lens option, the open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume, and translated audio is heard only by the wearer; the other person reads the reply on your phone.
Do OXIVUE glasses have a display like the INMO Air 3?
No. OXIVUE glasses have no display of any kind. Nothing appears in your view. They capture 8 MP photos and video, play audio through open-ear speakers and speak translations to the wearer. If a screen in your glasses is the reason you looked at the Air 3, buy a display product.
What these frames won’t do
- No prescription lenses yet, on any model. If you need vision correction all day, these can't replace your glasses.
- No display. Nothing appears in your view; you hear answers and capture photos and video.
- Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and won't block out a loud train or a windy road the way sealed earbuds do.
- Translation, music, calls and the assistant need your phone nearby and connected. Translation pauses after each sentence, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone.
- M02C: IP65 resists dust and water jets, not immersion. No swimming, no saltwater.
- M08: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
- M08C: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
