Where Lucyd wins

  • Prescription.Lucyd runs a real Rx program. OXIVUE doesn’t offer prescription lenses. If you wear a prescription all day, this settles it (more in our prescription smart glasses guide).
  • Price for audio only. If you just want music and calls in your frames, Lyte from $99 is cheaper than any OXIVUE.
  • ChatGPT.Lucyd’s app talks to ChatGPT. OXIVUE uses its own assistant.
  • No camera, on purpose.Camera-free glasses are welcome in offices, gyms and clinics where a lens isn’t. Lucyd sells this as a feature, and it is one.
  • Battery. 12 hours quoted for Lyte against 7 hours of listening on the M08.

Where OXIVUE wins

  • A camera under $200. Every OXIVUE frame takes photos and video. The cheapest camera frame on lucyd.co is the HTC VIVE Eagle at $499; the OXIVUE M08 is $149.
  • Visual AI.The M02C’s “Hey Cyan” assistant answers questions about what you’re looking at. Audio-only glasses can’t, because there’s no sensor to look with.
  • Translation in the ear. Two-way conversation translation across 40+ languages (139 on the M14); you hear the other language in your ear and the app shows both sides as text.
  • Weather. The M02C is IP65 at 41 g.
  • Warranty included. 2 years against defects, repaired or replaced, in the price.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between OXIVUE and Lucyd?

The camera. Lucyd's core frames (Lyte, Armor, Reebok x Lucyd) are audio smart glasses with no camera, from $99 to $249, with a real prescription program and ChatGPT through the Lucyd app. OXIVUE's frames all carry an 8 MP camera, from $149 (M08) to $199 (M14), with open-ear audio and two-way translation, but no prescription lenses. The only camera frame Lucyd sells is HTC's VIVE Eagle at $499.

Does Lucyd have a camera?

Lucyd's own Lyte, Armor and Reebok frames do not. As of October 1, 2026 lucyd.co also sells HTC's VIVE Eagle, which has a 12 MP camera and ZEISS lenses, at $499. So a camera from Lucyd's store costs $499; a camera from OXIVUE starts at $149.

Which is cheaper, OXIVUE or Lucyd?

Lucyd, if you only want audio: Lucyd says Lyte starts at $99. OXIVUE starts at $149 because every OXIVUE frame includes a camera. Compared camera to camera, OXIVUE is cheaper: $149 to $199 against $499 for the VIVE Eagle on lucyd.co.

Can I get prescription lenses in OXIVUE like Lucyd?

No. This is Lucyd's clearest advantage. Lucyd runs a full prescription program; OXIVUE frames ship with photochromic, sunglass or clear lenses (the M14 has a fixed one-piece shield) and do not offer prescription lenses yet. If you need Rx in the frame, buy Lucyd.

Does OXIVUE work with ChatGPT like Lucyd?

No. OXIVUE runs its own assistant in the free HeyCyan app, including the M02C's "Hey Cyan" visual AI that answers questions about what the camera sees, plus two-way translation. If talking to ChatGPT specifically is what you want, Lucyd's app does that and OXIVUE does not.

Which has better battery life?

On published figures, Lucyd Lyte: Lucyd quotes 12 hours. The OXIVUE M08 is rated 7 hours of listening and 4 hours of calls on a ~300 mAh cell. The difference is mostly the camera module, which the Lyte doesn't carry.

What are the warranty and return terms?

OXIVUE: 2-year limited warranty against defects, repaired or replaced; no refunds except for damage in transit. US orders arrive in 5–9 business days, free shipping from $99. Lucyd sells a 2-year Lucyd Pro Insurance plan as a $99 add-on; check lucyd.co for its standard warranty and returns terms before you buy.
