Huawei smart glasses, and what to buy if you live in the US

1. Huawei’s two smart glasses in 2026

Huawei lists two smart glasses today: HUAWEI Eyewear 2 and HUAWEI AI Glasses. When we checked Huawei’s China audio page on October 19, 2026, those were the only two glasses on it, and the global English audio page listed only Eyewear 2. There is no “Eyewear 3” page on either site, despite the searches for one.

HUAWEI Eyewear 2 is an audio frame. Huawei’s global specification page lists 11 hours of audio playback and 9 hours of voice calls on a charge, IP54 (Huawei describes it as splash-resistant during normal use, without pro-level water resistance), Bluetooth 5.3, and weights of 36.6 g to 43.0 g with clear lenses depending on the style. The specification list has no camera. Pop-up pairing is listed for Huawei phones running EMUI 10 or HarmonyOS 2 or later, and gestures are customised in Huawei’s AI Life app.

HUAWEI AI Glasses (华为 AI 眼镜) are the camera model. Huawei’s China specification page lists a 12 MP ultra-wide camera with electronic stabilisation, 9 hours of music and 8 hours of calls, IP54, Bluetooth 6.0 and Wi-Fi 6, and about 35.5 g without lens inserts. It comes in four styles, three of them optical frames that Huawei lists with prescription lenses fitted. The product page shows a starting price of ¥2,499 and offers simultaneous interpretation between Chinese and 20 languages through Huawei’s Xiaoyi assistant.

2. Buying and using Huawei smart glasses in the US

Huawei’s own site shows no US store for either pair. On October 19, 2026, consumer.huawei.com/us redirected to the global English site; the Eyewear 2 page there gives no price and no retailer, and suggests trying the frames on at a Huawei store or an eyewear store. The AI Glasses appeared only on the China site, in Chinese, priced in yuan.

The second issue is the phone. Huawei states on the AI Glasses page that the full feature set needs HarmonyOS 6.0.0.130 or later together with certain Huawei phones, naming the Mate and Pura series. The interpretation feature carries the same requirement, because it uses the phone as the microphone and plays the result through the glasses. Huawei does not list iPhone support. If you carry an iPhone or a Samsung, Pixel or other Android phone, the camera, assistant and translation features are the parts Huawei does not promise you.

Eyewear 2 is simpler: it is a Bluetooth audio frame, and its pop-up pairing convenience is listed for Huawei phones. Buying either pair through an importer also means warranty and support run through that seller rather than a Huawei store in your country. Our Xiaomi AI Glasses guide walks through the same situation for another China-first brand.

3. Huawei vs OXIVUE, side by side

Huawei’s AI Glasses beat our frames on several numbers, and the table says so. The difference for a US buyer is where each is sold and which phone it is built around. Huawei figures are from Huawei’s own pages, checked October 19, 2026.

Prices checked 2026-10-19; checkout price may change. Free shipping starts at $99, so a single M08 or M02C qualifies. Every model is on our comparison page.

4. M02C ($109 at checkout): the closest match

The M02Cis $109 at checkout and is the OXIVUE frame closest to what people want from Huawei’s AI Glasses: a camera, an assistant and translation in an ordinary-looking frame. It uses a Sony IMX219 8 MP sensor with dual stabilisation, is rated IP65 (dust-tight and protected against water jets, not immersion), weighs about 41 g and charges magnetically.

• Hey Cyan visual AI. The M02C is the OXIVUE frame that can describe what you are looking at, through the free HeyCyan app.
• Translation. 40+ languages through the app on an iPhone or Android phone. Only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone, and translation pauses after each sentence.
• Capture. A photo or clip starts only with a touch on the temple. If you record people, ask first and follow local law.
• Lenses. Sun, photochromic or clear.

Where Huawei is ahead: a 12 MP camera against our 8 MP, longer listening and call times, and optical styles that take prescription lenses. Where the M02C is ahead for a US buyer: it is sold and supported here, its app is in English on both phone platforms, and its IP65 rating is higher than IP54.

5. M08 ($99 at checkout): camera and audio for less

The M08 is $99 at checkout, with an 8 MP camera, open-ear speakers, microphones and 7 hours of listening and 4 hours of calls, at about 42 g. It comes with a sun, photochromic or clear lens and supports 40+ languages of translation through the same HeyCyan app.

If you were looking at Eyewear 2 mainly for open-ear music and calls, the M08 gives you that plus a camera. Be clear about the trade: Eyewear 2 lists 11 hours of playback against the M08’s 7, and the M08 has no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray. If audio is all you want, our smart audio glasses guide and the Bose Frames alternatives page cover frames built only for sound.

6. When Huawei is still the right pick

Huawei’s AI Glasses are the stronger choice if three things are true: you already use a recent Huawei phone on HarmonyOS 6, you need prescription lenses in the frame, and you live where Huawei sells them. Our frames take no prescription lenses, so if you need vision correction all day, they cannot replace your glasses.

For most US readers the answer runs the other way. An iPhone or a non-Huawei Android phone is the deciding fact, and an English app, US delivery in 5–9 business days and a warranty handled by the seller matter more than a higher camera resolution. Other limits of our frames to know before you buy:

• No display. Nothing appears in your view; you hear answers and capture photos and video.
• Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and do not block out a loud train the way sealed earbuds do.
• Music, calls, translation and the assistant need your phone nearby and connected.

OXIVUE publishes this page and sells the M02C and M08, so weigh our picks with that in mind; the Huawei facts above are taken from Huawei’s own pages with the date we checked them. For more camera-glasses options beyond these two brands, see Ray-Ban Meta alternatives.

Shipping, refunds and warranty. Free shipping from $99. US orders typically arrive in 5–9 business days; international orders take 9–14 business days after shipment, and outside the US import VAT or duties are paid by the recipient on delivery. No refunds except transit damage (replaced or refunded); faults are repaired or replaced under the 2-year warranty; change of mind and unmet expectations are not refundable. None of our frames take prescription lenses. Details are on the shipping policy and warranty pages.
