Golf gifts for men, sorted by the golfer you’re buying for

Long lists of golf gifts are easy to find. This one starts from the player instead: the range regular, the weekend four-ball golfer, the golfer who travels, the one who has every gadget. Each gets gift ideas that suit how he plays, and one section covers camera sunglasses, which we make, including what they will not do on a course.

1. Three questions to answer before you buy a golf gift

Three things decide whether a golf gift gets used: the right size, the right brand and not duplicating a gadget he already owns. Answer these before you choose anything on this page.

  • What does he already carry? Look in his bag. The ball he plays, the glove size, whether there is already a rangefinder or a GPS watch: all of that tells you what to buy more of and what not to duplicate.
  • How often does he play, and where? A golfer who plays twice a week at his own club wants different things from one who plays four rounds a year on holiday.
  • Does he need prescription glasses to play? This only matters if you are thinking about sunglasses, but it decides that question completely: none of our frames take prescription lenses.

Clubs, shoes and anything else that has to fit his swing or his feet are poor surprise gifts. If that is what he wants, give a fitting appointment and let him choose.

2. Gift ideas by type of golfer

These are categories, not products, so you choose the budget and the shop. We do not quote other brands’ prices or specifications here; check the listing of anything you pick.

The range regular

  • A practice aid he can use at home, such as a putting mat or an alignment aid.
  • A block of range sessions or a short series of lessons with a club professional.
  • A good practice glove in his size, or two, since they wear out fastest on the range.

The weekend four-ball golfer

  • A box of the exact ball he already plays, optionally personalised.
  • A round at a course he has mentioned but never booked, with you or his usual group.
  • A better towel, umbrella or rain glove for the days the weather turns.

The golfer who travels

  • A padded travel cover for his clubs.
  • A tee time or golf break at a destination course.
  • A compact shoe bag and a small kit for tees, markers and a divot tool.

The golfer who has every gadget

  • Experiences rather than objects: tickets to a tournament, or a lesson with a well-known coach.
  • A category he may not own yet: camera sunglasses (see section 4). Our gifts for golfers who have everything guide goes deeper on this player.

The competitive club golfer

  • Entry fees for a club competition or an open event he has wanted to play.
  • A session on a launch monitor or a full bag fitting, if he has not had one recently.
  • A practice-round plan with his coach before the season starts.

For this golfer, anything that touches the rules (devices, measuring, audio) is worth a question to his club or the competition committee before the first counting round. He will know what is permitted at his club far better than any gift guide.

The new golfer

  • A beginner lesson package, which usually helps more than any equipment.
  • Rules and etiquette basics, plus a simple bag of essentials: tees, balls, a towel, a marker.

Whichever golfer you are buying for, an experience is the gift least likely to be duplicated, and consumables are the gift least likely to be wrong. Gadgets sit between the two: welcome when he does not own one, wasted when he does. If you are unsure, a lesson or a booked round paired with a small item to unwrap on the day covers both.

3. Golf gift categories at a glance

The table pairs each gift category with the golfer it suits and the one thing to check first. Only the OXIVUE row carries a price, because it is the only product we sell.

For the measuring side of golf tech, our golf gadgets guide sorts the main categories.

4. Camera sunglasses: the M08C ($119 at checkout)

The M08C is a pair of sunglasses with an 8 MP Sony IMX219 camera, open-ear speakers and microphones, $119 at checkout ($169 listed). It has gold or silver metal trim on an Italian TR90 frame, weighs about 42 g and is rated for 7 hours of listening and 4 hours of calls. It comes with a sun, photochromic or clear lens.

On a course, that adds up to three practical uses:

  • Photos and short clips from his eyeline.A touch on the temple takes a photo of a signature hole or a clip of a partner’s drive, with the club still in his hands. He should ask partners before filming them.
  • Open-ear audio. Music or a call without earbuds, while he still hears his group. At high volume some sound leaks, so keep it low on the tee.
  • Off the course. With the clear or photochromic lens and the metal trim, they pass as everyday glasses for the office and travel, which is part of why we position the M08C for golf and business.

If he prefers a plainer sports look, the M08 is the same idea without the metal trim at $99 at checkout. Neither has a published water rating; for a golfer who plays through steady rain, the M02C ($109) is rated IP65, which covers water jets but not immersion. On lens choice for changing light, see golf sunglasses and smart glasses for golf. OXIVUE publishes this page and sells the frames in it.

5. What camera sunglasses won’t do on a golf course

They give no yardages, no shot tracking and no display, and we make no claim that they change his score. Being clear about that is what keeps the gift from disappointing.

  • No measuring. For distances he still needs a rangefinder or GPS device.
  • No display. Nothing appears in his view. Photos and clips go to the HeyCyan app on his phone.
  • No filming his own swing. The camera sees what he sees, so it records the ball and the hole, not his posture.
  • No prescription lenses on any model.
  • Club and competition rules. Some clubs restrict cameras or phones, and a competition committee can set its own conditions on devices. Ask before he uses the camera or audio in a counting round.
  • Refunds. No refunds except transit damage (replaced or refunded); faults are repaired or replaced under the 2-year warranty; change of mind and unmet expectations are not refundable. Full terms are on the return policy page.

Captures only start with a visible touch on the temple, so nothing records unless he starts it. Recording people, especially with audio, can require their consent depending on where he plays, so the habit to give with the gift is to ask first.

6. Ordering a golf gift for Christmas

US delivery is usually 5–9 business days (international 9–14 after shipment); we can’t guarantee arrival before December 25, so order early. Shipping is free from $99, so every single pair ships free. Outside the US, prices exclude import VAT and duties, which the recipient pays on delivery. Delivery details are on the shipping policy page.

If you both play, two or more pairs in one order are 50% off all eyewear, so two M08C come to $169, or an M08C and an M08 to $159: one for him, one for you. The broader smart glasses gift guide covers wrapping, setup and what to tell him on the day.

Shipping, refunds and warranty. Free shipping from $99. US orders typically arrive in 5–9 business days; international orders take 9–14 business days. OXIVUE does not offer refunds except for an order damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded. Faults after delivery are covered by the 2-year warranty through repair or replacement. None of our frames take prescription lenses. Compare every model on the comparison page.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of gifts do golfers like?

Things they will use on their next round. Consumables he already chooses himself (the ball he plays, gloves in his size, tees), time on the course (a lesson, a round somewhere he has wanted to play) and small upgrades to things he carries every week are the safest picks. Equipment that has to be fitted, such as clubs and shoes, is better given as a fitting appointment than as a guess.

What are some good golf gifts for 2026?

The categories that keep working are a lesson or a fitting with a club professional, a round at a course on his list, the exact ball he already plays, a practice aid for home, and a better bag, towel or umbrella. If he already owns the measuring gadgets, camera sunglasses are a category many golfers do not have yet: the OXIVUE M08C is $119 at checkout and records a clip from his eyeline with a touch.

What are some good golf gifts under $50?

Our glasses are not in that bracket, since the lowest-priced pair is $99 at checkout. At a smaller budget, the usual answers are consumables and small accessories: a box of the ball he already plays, gloves in his size, tees, a towel, a ball marker or divot tool, or a headcover. Check his bag first so you buy the brand and size he actually uses.

Do camera sunglasses improve your golf game?

No. They do not measure distance, track shots, read greens or show anything in front of his eyes, and we make no claim that they change a score. What they do is take a photo or a short clip of what he is looking at when he touches the temple, and play music or calls through open-ear speakers. For yardages he still needs a rangefinder or GPS device.

Can he wear them in a club competition?

Ask the competition committee or the club first. Competitions can set their own conditions on phones, audio and recording devices, and many clubs have their own policy on cameras and photography. As ordinary sunglasses they are simply eyewear; it is the camera and audio functions that a club or committee may restrict, so check before he uses them in a counting round.

Is this a good gift if he wears prescription glasses?

No. None of our frames take prescription lenses, so a golfer who needs his glasses to see the ball would have to choose between seeing clearly and wearing these. If he wears contact lenses on the course, the M08C works over them. If he wears prescription glasses all the time, choose a lesson, a round or one of the accessories on this page instead.

Will it arrive before Christmas?

We cannot promise it. US delivery is usually 5–9 business days (international 9–14 after shipment); we can't guarantee arrival before December 25, so order early. Shipping is free from $99, so every single pair ships free. Outside the US, import VAT and duties are paid by the recipient on delivery, which matters if the parcel is a surprise.

What if he doesn't like them?

There is no refund for that. OXIVUE does not offer refunds except for an order damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded; a fault after delivery is covered by the 2-year warranty through repair or replacement. Change of mind and unmet expectations are not refundable, so make sure he wears sunglasses on the course and does not need prescription lenses before you order.

What these frames won’t do

  • No prescription lenses yet, on any model. If you need vision correction all day, these can't replace your glasses.
  • No display. Nothing appears in your view; you hear answers and capture photos and video.
  • Open-ear speakers leak some sound at high volume and won't block out a loud train or a windy road the way sealed earbuds do.
  • Translation, music, calls and the assistant need your phone nearby and connected. Translation pauses after each sentence, and only you hear the translated audio; the other person reads the reply on your phone.
  • M08C: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.
  • M08: no published water rating, so keep it out of heavy rain and spray.

Check these before you order: see the warranty and refund policy.
