How we compared Aventa smart glasses with the M08

Every Aventa figure on this page comes from Aventa’s own website, read on September 25, 2026: the homepage, the G100 product page, the FAQ and the shipping policy. Every OXIVUE figure comes from our product specifications and policy pages. We have not bench-tested an Aventa G100, so nothing below is a measurement of ours. Where one side publishes a number and the other does not, the table says “not published” instead of guessing.

That rule cuts both ways. We do not quote a continuous-video figure for the M08 here, which means Aventa’s recording row wins by default. We would rather lose a row honestly than put a number next to it that we cannot stand behind.

The two products are close enough that the choice comes down to a handful of structural differences rather than headline specs: what the assistant is built on, how long the frame records, whether it takes your prescription, and what happens after you buy it. Those are the rows worth reading slowly.

Reading the price row.Both brands run promotions, so the number on a product card is not always what you pay. Where Aventa’s published numbers beat ours

A comparison page that finds its own product ahead on every row is not a comparison. These are the rows where, on what each maker publishes, Aventa comes out in front of the M08.

• Photo resolution. 20 MP against 8 MP. Megapixels are not image quality, and no glasses camera competes with a modern phone, but on the spec sheet the gap is real.
• Recording length. Aventa publishes 3 hours of continuous video in clips of up to 12 minutes, with software stabilisation. If you want to wear a camera through a whole match or a long ride, that is the most specific recording claim of the two.
• Music playback.About 30 hours against the M08’s 7 hours of listening.
• Storage and transfer. 32 GB with Wi-Fi transfer is published; the M08 does not publish a storage figure.
• Prescription lenses. Aventa sells prescription packages at checkout. OXIVUE does not, and our prescription guide explains why that is rare at this price.
• Returns. Aventa accepts returns for a refund within 30 days of delivery. OXIVUE does not offer refunds except for transit damage. If being able to send a pair back because you changed your mind matters to you, that is a real difference and it favours Aventa.
• Shipping cost. Aventa ships free worldwide with no minimum. OXIVUE ships free from $99, and $9.99 below that.
• A published water rating. Aventa lists one (IPX4 or IP65, depending on the page). The M08 lists none.

Where the M08 is the stronger buy

The M08 is not trying to out-record the G100. It is a frame first: 42 grams of Italian TR90 with an 8 MP camera set flush into the corner, open-ear directional audio and one-touch capture. Here is where it comes out ahead on the published record.

• Warranty length. Two years against one. The OXIVUE warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship on eyewear, including speakers, microphones, the camera module, Bluetooth, the touchpad, the charging pin, battery retention and hinges, and is handled by repair or replacement.
• Translation you can check before you buy. The M08 translates 40+ languages, two-way, through the free app. Aventa says the G100 translates in real time but does not publish how many languages. If translation is the reason you want AI glasses, a stated number beats an unstated one; our translation guide covers how it works in practice.
• Checkout price. With the single-pair discount the M08 comes to $99, which also clears the $99 free-shipping threshold. With two or more pairs in the cart, every pair is 50% off.
• U.S. delivery time on stocked lenses. The M08 in Sunglasses or Clear ships from our U.S. warehouse in 5–9 business days. Aventa publishes 1–2 days of processing plus 7–14 business days of delivery.
• No account tied to a social platform, no subscription.The M08’s features run through a free companion app, with no Meta account and no monthly fee.

The M08 also has a published battery split, 7 hours listening and 4 hours of calls from a ~300 mAh cell, and Bluetooth 5.4. Aventa publishes neither a capacity nor a Bluetooth version.

Where Aventa’s own pages disagree

Reading the Aventa site in full turned up four places where two of its own pages give different answers to the same question. None of these is a verdict on the product; they are the questions to ask Aventa before you order.

1. Water rating. IPX4 on the homepage, IP65 on the product page. Those are different tests: splashing water, against dust-tight plus water jets. Our water-rating guide explains the gap.
2. Price. $149 in the homepage comparison table, $119 on the product page on the same day.
3. Weight. 42 g in the feature list, 43 g in the measurements block. One gram does not matter on your face; it matters as a sign of which sheet is current.
4. Charging time. Fully charged in 70 minutes on the homepage, in about an hour in the FAQ.

The OXIVUE alternatives to the Aventa G100

1. OXIVUE M08 — $149 · the like-for-like alternative

Same weight class, same list price, a longer warranty and a published language count. The camera is 8 MP rather than 20 MP. Choose Sunglasses, Photochromic or Clear lenses; Sunglasses and Clear ship in 5–9 business days in the U.S., Photochromic in 9–14. See the M08.

2. OXIVUE M02C — $159 · if the visual AI is what you wanted

Aventa’s headline is an assistant that recognises what you are looking at. 3. OXIVUE M14 — $199 · if storage and translation range matter most

A different object: a 52 g wrap-around shield with an 8 MP Sony IMX219 camera, 1080p 30 fps video with EIS, 4 GB onboard memory, Wi-Fi file transfer, IPX4 and 139-language translation through the HeyCyan app. Its battery runs the other way from the M08 family, 4 hours listening and 7 hours of calls, and the shield does not swap. Which one to buy

On returns, say it plainly before you order: OXIVUE does not offer refunds. The one exception is an order that arrives damaged in transit, which is replaced or refunded. Faults after delivery are handled under the 2-year warranty by repair or replacement, not refund. Change of mind, fit, and features not matching your expectations are not refundable. Bottom line

The Aventa G100 and the OXIVUE M08 are two 42-gram camera frames at about the same price, built around different bets. Aventa publishes the bigger capture numbers, ChatGPT, prescription lenses and change-of-mind returns within 30 days of delivery. The OXIVUE M08 at $149 ($99 at checkout for a single pair during the New-Vision Event) publishes a two-year warranty, 40+ language translation and 5–9 business-day U.S. delivery on Sunglasses and Clear.
